Did you know that you need a PE credit and Arts Education
credits to graduate from High School? Dance classes at
VHHS can be used as a PE credit or an Arts Education credit!
Dance students also have the opportunity to join the National
Honor Society for Dance Arts!
Create – Perform – Respond – Connect
Dance&classes&at&VHHS&are&designed&to&engage&dancers&of&all&levels.
Intro and Advanced Dance I
Students will discover the expressive
elements of dance, learn terminology,
and be able to create and perform
dance. No daytime school performance
is required. Evening Spring Showcase
performance is required.
Honors Dance Composition
Students will explore dance composition
in depth and learn different methods of
choreography. Performance in the Holiday
program and Spring Showcase is required.

This NEW dance company is for
students who are interested in more
performance opportunities and are
committed to company
membership. Students will
collaborate with instructor to create
concert dance pieces. Dancers will
be expected to perform at their
technical level on a daily
basis. Performance in Holiday
program and other community
performance are required.
Performance obligations, minimal
after school rehearsal time

Rebelette Dance Teams
The Varsity Rebelettes (grades 11, 12)
and JV Rebelettes (grades 9,10) are
audition based dance teams. Auditions
are held in the spring each year. The
Varsity Rebelette team competes at the
state and national level. Both teams
perform at pep rallies, home basketball
games and various shows throughout the

Students in the VHHS Dance department will be invited to attend a trip to
New York City in Spring of 2017. The trip will include seeing a Broadway
show, a Broadway workshop with performers, dance classes at Alvin Ailey
Dance Center, classes at Broadway Dance Center, a private bus tour of
