Greetings from YOUR
I can’t believe that summer is coming to a close and now all of us are planning our school and recreational programs for
the upcoming fall. Fortunately, your Park District Staff has prepared a large variety of recreational programs for you to
choose from.
As usual, the ever-popular before and after school program “ACES” program, located at New Lenox School District #122
campuses, is in full swing and offers a valuable service to our working parents. You will also find a wide selection of
programs in this catalog from bus trips, youth, adult and teen programs to holiday and special events. Your Recreation
Department is always adding programs that our patrons have expressed an interest in and this fall programming is no
different. Some new recreational opportunities include:
•
•
•
•
•
Girls Basketball League, Grades 3-8
Chair Yoga and Tap Dancing
Haunted Chicago Teen Bus Trip
Fantasy Football Draft & Craft
Additional Times for our popular Polar Express Story Time
So, please take the time to go through this catalog and choose an activity that appeals to you and your family.
PRESIDENT’S LETTER
New Lenox Community Park District!
Let me provide an update on some of the things that are going on with the rest of your Park District. This past summer,
your Park District unveiled its newest addition to its park system with the opening of Firefighters Park. This park which is
located at the Lions Community Center has a lot of special features and, of course, has a firefighter theme. Look for the
Official Grand Opening sometime next spring.
Your Park District Staff, along with the professional services of a company specializing in park development, are putting
on the final touches to your Districtwide “Comprehensive Master Plan.” Once this two-year project is completed,
this plan will better serve Staff and your Elected Commissioners in identifying the Park District’s deficiencies in park
and recreational programming. This Master Plan will assist in prioritizing capital projects; help in developing financial
planning; and will be a huge asset in applying for state grant money once programs become available again.
It is common knowledge that our elected officials down in Springfield cannot find common ground to serve the people
of Illinois, but rest assured that your Park District Staff and Board of Commissioners are committed to providing the
highest quality of services to all citizens within the New Lenox Community Park District area. Also, we remain committed
in being good stewards of your tax dollars. The fact that your Park District has received the “Certificate of Achievement
for Excellence in Financial Reporting” for the past seven years indicates that we take this responsibility very seriously.
So I invite you to take advantage of the programs that your Park District offers in this catalog
and sign up for an activity that you and family are sure to enjoy.
Remember…Be Active and Stay Healthy!
Sincerely,
Brian Fischer

What is the S.T.O.P. PROGRAM?
Thank You to Our Volunteers
S.T.O.P. stands for Stop Trashing Our
Parks and will be represented by our
mascot, Bucky Beaver who is dressed
as a park ranger, holding a STOP sign
S.T.O.P.
in one paw and cash in the other paw.
Cash rewards will be paid for information
leading to the apprehension of park
vandals. Individuals providing information are not required to
identify themselves. Hopefully, kids of all ages can relate to this
“friendly mascot” and understand that he is trying to protect the
parks.
New Lenox Community Park District is
grateful for the many volunteers who
support our programs throughout
the year. The Recreation Department
received the generous support of
many volunteers who contributed
countless hours of their valuable time.
All volunteers ensure quality and safety
within our programs while giving freely
of their time and energy. We greatly
appreciate their support! Anyone that is
interested in volunteering to help with a
Recreation Department program can visit our website at
www.newlenoxparks.org “About Us” tab to download and

This Kiddie Kampus class is designed to benefit our “older”
preschool children who just missed the Kindergarten cut-off.
We have created a class geared towards the older learners. This
class will meet Monday, Wednesday and Friday for two and a
half hours each day. Refer to chart for pricing details.
This program provides a secure and caring environment that
fosters growth in verbal development, small/large motor skills
and social skills. This program is specifically created to serve
the Tuesday/Thursday preschoolers to extend their day so they
can receive as many academic hours as their three-day-aweek counterparts in a two-day school week. Refer to chart for
pricing details.

take the next step. Your child will benefit from a curriculum
strong in accelerated projects and fine and gross motor skills
development. All participants need to bring a bag lunch and
drink with their name on it.
Are you hungry for some friends and fun? When lunch is over,
let the fun begin! This program allows for an extra hour of play
time when tied into our Kiddie Kampus Program. All participants

EARLY CHILDHOOD
Musikgarten
Ages 6 months-3 years
Instead of just another sing-a-long class, Musikgarten offers
your child music education at an early age. Your child will
bounce, wiggle, sing and dance while they learn rhythm
and other musical concepts through activities, games and
instruments. This is a wonderful way to bond while they
learn and have fun at the same time. All of our instructors are
Musikgarten-certified. This is a 15-week session!
Family Music for Toddlers-Play with Me
Program Requirements

• Children must be the correct age by 9/1/16, unless
otherwise specified. In order to provide your child
with the best possible recreational and/or learning
experience, all of our programs are planned according
to the ages listed in our catalog.
• Classes are for child attending only, except for
classes with an adult. Parents should not remain in
the classroom or gymnasium after dropping off their
child. This is in the child’s best interest, as continual
interruptions tend to affect participant’s attention span
and inhibit the establishment of peer relationships.

NO REFUNDS ARE GIVEN: (1) once a program begins unless a
replacement is found; (2) on material fees unless we cancel a
program; (3) on bus trips; or (4) for Special Events or one-day
programs. A full refund is issued if we cancel a program or trip.
Our seasonal catalogs are distributed as an insert in the New
Lenox Patriot Newspaper. For customers outside of New Lenox,
the Park District relies on the postal service for distribution
of our program catalogs. The Park District assumes no
responsibility for delivery. Please contact us at 815.485.3584 if
you do not receive your catalog.
• When a participant cancels out of a program, a full refund,
LESS a $5 Service Charge (per program); will be granted.
A $5 service charge will also be assessed on all program
transfers. These requests will only be honored if the request
is submitted THREE BUSINESS DAYS prior to the start of the
program or activity.
• All refunds less than $10 will be applied as a credit to the
customer’s account.
• A $30 NSF fee will be added for all returned checks.
• Every effort will be made to process refunds within 30 days,
but in some instances it may take longer.
CANCELLATION
Staff reserves the right to consolidate, postpone, reschedule
or cancel any program due to change in day, dates, times,
instructor, or insufficient enrollment.
For cancellations due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e.
inclement weather, facility emergencies or scheduling conflicts),
which are announced by the Lincoln-Way District #210 or
New Lenox School District #122 at facilities where Park District
programs are scheduled, Park District programming will be
cancelled as well. All attempts will be made to reschedule
cancelled classes. However, the New Lenox Community Park
District is sometimes unable to accommodate make-up classes
and will not refund money in such instances.
PROGRAM BEHAVIOR POLICY
FOR YOUR SAFETY
A mandatory sign-in and sign-out procedure is required for all
participants enrolled in any Park District program. Children must
be accompanied by an adult when being escorted to and from
class.
LIABILITY
The New Lenox Community Park District is unable to assume
responsibility for injuries, accidents or loss of personal property
occurring during programs or activities, in parks or facilities.
Such insurance would make programs and user fees prohibitive.
It is recommended that participants make provisions to provide
this coverage through their family insurance program.
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
If you are (1) a New Lenox resident and (2) cannot participate
for financial reasons, you may be eligible for financial aid.
Please contact the Park District’s Director of Recreation at
815.485.3584 for an interview. Please note that the maximum
household scholarship benefit is $1,000 per year.
MILITARY DISCOUNT
We are pleased to offer a military discount for those who qualify.
Please contact 815.485.3584 for further information and details.
Participants are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior at
all times. The following guidelines have been developed to
help make Park District programs safe and enjoyable for all
participants. Additional rules may be developed for particular
programs and athletic leagues as deemed necessary by staff.
• Show respect to participants and staff; take direction from
staff.
www.newlenoxparks.org
• Refrain from using abusive or foul language, or from causing
bodily harm to self, other participants, or staff.
• Show respect to equipment, supplies, and facilities. The New
Lenox Community Park District reserves the right to terminate
