beginning of instruction may be discontinued. Any class which does not

Provides introductory instruction for keyboarding by touch and
learning MS Windows. This course or Introduction to Windows
is highly recommended prior to taking other courses taught
within the Windows environment.

Persons 18 years of age or older may enroll in continuing
education classes. Students under 18 years of age who have not
graduated from high school may be admitted by special approval
of their high school and approval of a continuing education
administrator. All classes are open-entry/open-exit and are free
of charge. Individuals may enroll at any time during the summer
session provided there is space available in classes. Enrollment
is on a first-come, first-served basis. Times listed for classes are
subject to change without notice from the administration.

Individuals interested in taking classes in the ESL program
take a placement assessment before enrolling into a class. The
assessment is given to help determine which class level would
be best for the learner. Summer Semester Assessment Schedule:
Emphasizes comprehending, participating in, and sustaining
simple conversations, reading short passages with understanding,
and producing short written passages. El curso se especializa

ADULT HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA PROGRAM/GED (GED-031) /
PROGRAMA DE MATERIAS DE HIGH SCHOOL PARA ADULTOS/GED
The Adult High School Diploma and GED Programs are self-paced and
individualized. Classes are open-entry/open-exit; students may begin
anytime. Students must be 18 years of age or older.
Each student has an individualized educational plan to complete his/
her personal graduation requirements. In addition to classes offered at
the Orange Education Center, classes are also offered on the Santiago
Canyon College campus. Students may attend any or all sessions offered
at either or both locations.
Concurrent enrollment in High School Subjects and college credit classes is
also offered in some cases. Students interested in concurrent enrollment
should meet with a counselor to discuss this option.
The ESL Civics class focuses on basic knowledge of local, state,
and federal government including language development within
the context of American history and government. Esta clase

The Career Center offers assistance with career and educational
information, assessment to determine career interest, résumé and job
application preparation, interviewing practice, job search and follow-up.

with career exploration, development of résumés, or completion of
college application.
CalWORKs
Santiago Canyon College-Orange Education Center provides instruction
and student support services for CalWORKs participants, with the
short-term goal of preparing participants to move into unsubsidized
employment and the long-term goal of preparing them to take active
controls of their lives and management of their work careers. Services
include: counseling, vocational training, child care, job services, and
student support services.
ACCOMMODATIONS FOR DISABILITIES

Disabled Students Program and Services (DSPS) as early as possible
