“It is no small thing to know that upon your knowledge and skill a life may

Those words are displayed in the lobby of Fitch Hall, Drake University in Des Moines,
Iowa. Back in 1981 as a freshman pledge to Lambda Kappa Sigma and Kappa Psi, we
were required to memorize that phrase. Never did we realize, all those years ago, that we
would remember it so clearly in 2011. Even more amazing, that the words would hold
such relevance to the type of pharmacy we practice today.
Each of us at Preckshot are keenly aware each and every day that the prescriptions we

The International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists (IACP) has
announced the election of Wade Siefert of Preckshot Professional Pharmacy to its 2011
Board of Directors. Wade Siefert of Peoria, Illinois has been elected by over 2000 IACP
members to serve a three-year term.

Migraine Headaches
Common migraine triggers may include:
Hormonal changes in women. Fluctuations in estrogen seem to trigger headaches
in many women with known migraines. Hormonal medications — such as oral
contraceptives and synthetic hormone replacement therapy — also may worsen
migraines.
Foods. Common offenders include alcohol, especially beer and red wine; aged cheeses;
chocolate; aspartame; monosodium glutamate — a key ingredient in some Asian foods,
and processed foods. Skipping meals or fasting also can trigger migraines.
Stress. Stress at work or home can instigate migraines.
Sensory stimuli. Bright lights and sun glare can produce migraines, as can loud sounds.
Unusual smells — including pleasant scents, such as perfume, and unpleasant odors,
such as paint thinner and secondhand smoke, can also trigger migraines.
Changes in wake-sleep pattern. Either missing sleep or getting too much sleep may

Dr. Kishore graduated from medical
school in December 1985 and started
residency in Ophthalmology in India in
1986. After spending six years in the field
of Ophthalmology in New Delhi, he came
to the U.S. in 1992 and did a residency in
Internal Medicine for two years at Nassau
County Medical Center, Long Island, NY. He
did a six-month research fellowship at the
University of California in San Francisco in
the year 1994. Same year, he returned back to
the East Coast to pursue a three year
residency in Ophthalmology
in Newark, NJ. Subsequently,
he did a two-year fellowship in

vitreo-retinal surgery at the Louisiana
State University in New Orleans. He
came to central Illinois in August 1999
and joined a group practice in the area
as a vitreo-retinal specialist. He started
his own practice three-years later, first
in Peru, and in September 2003 in Peoria.
During more than 20 years in
Ophthamology and more than a decade
in the field of vitreo-retinal surgery,
Dr. Kishore has published extensively
in peer-reviewed medical journals, and
has given lectures and presentations
related to the specialtiy of retina. He is
a contributing surgeon in a video atlas
of vitreo-retinal surgery, which became
available in the U.S. in October 2009.
Dr. Kishore presented two research
posters at the 28th annual meeting of
American Society of Retina Surgeons
(ASRS) in Vancouver, BC, Canada in
August 2010.

Dr. Reza Vakili has been practicing
dentistry in Chicago, and Central Illinois
area, since 2001. In 1999 Dr. Valiki
attended the New York University
College of Dentistry and graduated as
a Doctor of Dental Surgery. Dr. Vakili
