SILENT AUCTION Auction ends at 6:30 pm
presents its
third annual
silent and live
Welcome!
Members of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church greet and thank
you for attending the parish’s annual charity auction. This
evening’s proceeds will benefit:
The Rector’s Discretionary Fund
money she distributes to the impoverished
and homeless and others in distress
Habitat for Humanity
for its continuing construction of new homes for
the poor who contribute their own
“sweat equity”
Delmarva Education Fund
helping residents of the Lower Shore
including southern Delaware and Virginia
find funds to continue their learning
On behalf of those who will directly or indirectly receive your
contributions this evening, we send you a heartfelt
thank you!

Helpful Information
about this evening’s auctions
There are two kinds of auctions offered at this event
SILENT AUCTION, 5:00 — 6:30 p.m.
When you arrive, you will be given a bidding card and unique number which you will
use throughout the evening. As you browse the displays of silent auction items, you
will see bid sheets at each position. These forms indicate the amount where bidding
begins. To bid write down what you want to offer for the item and your number
(assigned to your name and on your bidding card). You may want to return to your
item(s) several times to learn the latest bid and enter a new one. The silent auction
ends at 6:30 when Auction Committee members will high light each form to determine
the winner.
Photos and descriptions of the silent auction items begin on page 2. This
Catalog includes all items donated by September 30, 2012. Please look closely at all
the offerings during the auction as some last minute donations may be included.
PARTIES
As a part of the silent auction, we offer numerous events and parties at fixed prices
per person. Many of these are dinners presented by members of St. Alban’s and
served in their homes. Throughout the evening, the MC will announce when a new
group of parties open for sign up. Descriptions of the parties begin on page ._.
LIVE AUCTION, 6:45 p.m.
Please bring your bidding card with your number to the parish hall and take a seat at
one of the tables for the live auction. When you bid, raise your card so the auctioneer
can see your number and know you are increasing the amount.
After the jewelry and travel items have been auctioned, the cakes will be auctioned
off. As a table, please pool your money, decide which cake you want to bid on, and
then designate one person for your table to be the bidder. Once your table has
bought a cake, please relax and enjoy it. In case there are any leftovers, there is
plastic wrap in the kitchen. Make sure you give your portion of the cake money to the
bidder, so the bidder can pay for the cake when the bidder checks out with the
cashier.
Photos and descriptions of the live auction items begin on page ___.
CHECK OUT
Check out opens at 6:45. When you are ready to leave, please bring all your winning
bid sheets to the check out area (the party sign-up sheets will already be in the check
out area). Prior to entering the check out room, you will pick up any gift certificates,
service certificates or party reminders that you won.
