price. It is our hope you will find a class inside these pages to meet your individual needs. Enroll whenever you like and wherever you are by

The Adult & Community Education program operates through Lake Career & Technical Center (LCTC), which is part of the Camdenton R-III School
District. The Adult Education & Literacy program is also housed in our building and offers instruction to individuals wanting to earn their High
School Equivalency and those who need help to reach their educational and employment goals.

If you would like to offer a class through Community Education, give our staff a call at 573-346-9271. We will talk with you about your ideas and
help you design a class. You do not need a teaching certificate, just an interest in sharing your passion with others.
What is our Refund Policy?
• Full refund will be made if the class is cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or the class is filled before your registration is received.
• Each class needs a minimum enrollment, which is decided at least two working days before the start of class. Thus, withdrawal requests
must be received three working days prior to start of class. Refunds will be processed minus a $10 cancellation fee.
• If you are dissatisfied with a class that meets more than two sessions, please contact us within one working day for a refund of tuition
minus a $10 processing fee (no refund of textbooks or materials).
• Course information in this brochure is based on conditions at the time of printing and is subject to change.
• If notice of cancellation is received less than three (3) business days, no refunds will be issued.
• No shows will not receive a refund.

It’s Missouri, so you never know what the weather will do. If Camdenton R-III cancels school or dismisses early because of inclement weather,

Technology Coach at Camdenton Middle School. Heather received her undergraduate degree at Southern Illinois University in Speech Communications and a minor in Language Arts.
Heather loves helping teachers and kids incorporate effective technology strategies into the
classroom setting. She feels blessed to help teachers learn to use technology to enhance
learning. “We are connecting and collaborating with teachers and students all over the country and world.”
Heather presents across the state of Missouri on Interactive Lessons that allow every student
in the room an opportunity for their voice to be heard. She uses a variety of different apps and
web-sites to accomplish the lesson. She is also a certified Google educator.

My name is Michele Kroll and I have been a faculty member for the University of Missouri Extension for 25 years. I’m currently serving as a Community Development Specialist and am a
PhD student in Information Science and Learning Technologies at the University of Missouri.

An adventure into the world of dyeing, this class is a
basic introduction to the color changing process. We
will discuss several different dye techniques and mordants. This is a hands on class. We will dye a shirt,
socks, a scarf and some yarn. Dyes, mordants and
items to dye will be provided by the instructor. Please
wear old clothing and bring rubber gloves. (3 Hours)
In this class we will create unique and beautiful
buttons using both the dorcet button method
and polymer clay. We will also learn how to
make beautiful bows for use as accessories and
decorations. Please bring scissors to class for
ribbon cutting. All other materials will be provided by the instructor. (3 Hours)
Rags to Rugs with a Twining Board

Learn to use a twining board (a simple loom) to
create placemats and rugs. Twining is a weaving technique which totally encloses the warp
string/thread. It’s a great way to use up old or
ugly fabric!
This is a beginner class and all beginning and aspiring weavers are welcome. We will be working with a placemat size loom and old sheets,
pillowcases, T-shirts, etc. Materials fee includes
fabric needed to make your first placemat and
a twining board (placemat size), which will be
yours to keep. Written instructions will be provided for continued success with your loom at
home. Please bring scissors for cutting fabric
and about 6 large rubber bands. (3 Hours)

This is a “make it and take it” class that will be a
money saving investment you will never regret!
We will begin with the basics: how and why to
French Mill soap, basic lotion bars, simple shampoos and hair rinse, scrubs and more. You will
learn how to customize recipes to make them
your own, and to suit the needs of you and your
family. You will learn to understand the chemistry of solids, brittle solids and liquids. Recipes
to make your own cleaning products for your
everyday household cleaning products will be
included! This will be a jam-packed three hours!
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a soap-making class.
All soaps in this class will be French milled from
previously made goat milk soaps. Please bring
a paring knife, glass measuring cup (any size),
a small box (shoebox?), and several sandwichsized zip lock baggies. A cheese grater may also
come in handy, if you have one. Cost of materials included in class fee. (3 Hours)

Carvers from the Lake of the Ozarks Woodcarving
Club are anxious to teach another carving class
with the school, no matter what your skill level. This class is a continuation of the spring class
teaching students carving In-The-Round. However,
if you were not in the Spring Class you are still welcome to come carve with us. Those with carving
experience will carve a Shelf-Sitter Santa. If you
have carved this project, we will have an alternative project. We will also have ornament projects
for the first time carver. All levels will learn basic

Amy Tillotson

Registered Dietitian. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in dietetics from Iowa State
University in 2013, where she also completed her accredited dietetics internship. Amy has had
previous community nutrition experience working at a WIC office in Davenport, Iowa. She is a
member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Kiwanis, Professional Business Women and
Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Amy is passionate about helping individuals make healthy lifestyle changes and believes that balance is the key to success! Amy especially enjoys working with children and getting involved in
the community. Amy loves to stay up with the latest nutrition trends and enjoys testing out new
ingredients and recipes. When she is not at Hy-Vee or in the kitchen, you can find her watching
“Chopped”, staying active outdoors or spending time with her miniature bulldog, Nellie.

Advanced Dutch Oven Cooking

Cast Iron cookware is easy to use once you know how!
We will guide you in the use of cast iron cookware and
answer questions you may have while preparing (and
eating!) some delicious Dutch oven recipes together.
This class is appropriate for beginner or novice cast iron
cooks, as well as experienced cooks. One of the advanced
cooking topics covered will include baking in Dutch ovens. Students are welcome to bring their own Dutch ovens, recipes and ingredients and the instructors will help
you prepare them. Please dress appropriately as we will

Heartsaver® CPR AED is a classroom, video-based,
instructor-led course that teaches adult CPR and
AED use, as well as how to relieve choking on an
adult. This course is for anyone with limited or no
medical training who needs a course completion
card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory
or other requirements.
Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED is a classroom,
video-based, instructor-led course that teaches
students critical skills needed to respond to and
manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac
arrest emergency in the first few minutes until
emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. (1st
Session)
Students learn skills such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock and other first
aid emergencies. This course also teaches adult
CPR and AED use.
Cost of materials included in class fee. (2nd Session)
The Concealed Carry Weapon Course is designed
to meet the training requirements to carry a
concealed firearm. Students (minimum age 19)
will learn how to keep a firearm in the home,
firearm safety, cleaning and methods of carry.
Class will cover the Missouri use of force laws,
Castle Doctrine, judgmental shooting, principles
of marksmanship, stoppage clearing, reloading,
etc. Students will qualify with a semi-auto or a
revolver. If you do not have a firearm, one will be
provided (.38 or .40 cal and the student will need
to provide the ammo). If you have questions, call
Officer Brashear 573-836-0567. There will be a
lunch break before range qualification (you can
either bring a lunch or drive off campus).
Equipment Needed:
• Handgun – a semi-auto pistol or a revolver
• 50 rounds of ammunition
• Hearing & eye protection
Qualification portion held off campus; range fees
included in tuition. (8 Hours)
Basic Spanish will be the focus of the first half of
class: Simple conversations (greetings/goodbyes/
introductions), pronunciation and simple grammar.
The second half of class is catered to student preferences, including vocabulary for medical missions
and/or vacationing. (No Class 10/31)

Looking for a great way to stay active in the cold
winter months? Sign up for one of our women’s
volleyball leagues! This spring we will be offering two women’s volleyball leagues for players
of all ability levels. The Competitive League is
for experienced players who are looking for a
higher level of play. The Recreational League is
for players who want to stay active and have fun.
Total number of games played will depend upon
the number of teams participating. The top two
teams from each league will play in a one-night
tournament (dates subject to change). Please
register your team by September 6th. Roster of
players is due 1st night of play.

The Basic Rider Course is aimed at the beginner
or re-entry rider. The course provides fundamentals of safe, responsible motorcycle riding and will
include classroom instruction and practical riding
in a controlled, off-street environment. The course
concludes with a knowledge test and skill evaluation. Successful completion of this course allows
waiver of the road test portion for motorcycle licensing in Missouri.
MANDATORY ITEMS FOR THIS COURSE:
• HELMET - Full-face and 3/4 helmets are acceptable provided that they meet minimum DOT certification
• STURDY OVER-THE-ANKLE FOOTWEAR
• LONG SLEEVE SHIRT OR JACKET
• STURDY PANTS (NO SHORTS ALLOWED)
• FULL FINGER GLOVES
• EYE PROTECTION
Student must be a MINIMUM of 15 ½ years old the
day the course begins and be able to ride a bicycle.
Anyone under 18 years of age must have parental/
guardian permission in writing prior to the riding portion of the course. Motorcycles will be furnished, you

attend a 2016 FAFSA Frenzy event, be sure to bring any statements of interest earned in 2015, any 1099 forms, and any
other forms required to complete your taxes. This will allow you and your parents to submit your FAFSA online during
the event you attend. You will then need to go back to the FAFSA and submit corrections once tax returns are filed. The
IRS Data Retrieval Tool should be available to help submit your corrections accurately within a few weeks after your tax
