2015 Gold Fever Auction
Each year, the Chabot community looks forward to bringing together
parents, teachers, staff, families, friends and local businesses to celebrate
our collective strength and to demonstrate how important our children
and their education are to all of us!
Chabot’s “Gold Fever” Auction will happen in two phases: the online
auction and the gala event. Our goal is to raise more than $150,000 to
continue investing in our dynamic enrichment programs and vital services
that ensure each student at Chabot thrives.
The Online Auction launches on Wednesday, March 18 and ends on
Wednesday, March 25. Our generous donors are offering over 500
incredible items for every budget and interest, including gift certificates
to local restaurants and retailers, tickets to sporting events and cultural
institutions, fabulous parties and some very special teacher experiences.
The Gala will be held on Saturday, March 28, at the Greek Ascension
Community Center and includes cocktails, a silent auction, seated dinner
and raffles. MC’d by Jeff Taner, the exciting live auction will be “fueled”
by professional auctioneer, Alison Lustbader! We will close out the night
by announcing the winners of the Instant Wine Cellar, Beer Cave and
PUBLIC Bike raffles, and presenting a photo montage of Chabot students.
Please use this catalog as your guide to the 2015 Chabot Auction
experience. We’ve listed all of our Live and Silent Auction offerings with
detailed descriptions. Helpful instructions begin on page 7 so you can
acquaint yourself with the rules of bidding and give yourself the best
chance of success in your auction endeavors!
The Chabot Auction is a time to fundraise in support of our wonderful
school and continue building our Chabot community. We thank you
for joining us!

CLAREMONT MIDDLE SCHOOL “SILENT” FUNDRAISER

Claremont effectively serves students from a wide array of backgrounds
and is a valuable asset to our Rockridge neighborhood. Your taxdeductible contribution will accelerate Claremont’s ability to engage
and challenge students today and into the future.
The Way to Play
REGISTRATION
Upon entering the auction, you will check in and receive your bid number
and table assignment. Use only the bid number assigned to you for bidding
on silent and live auction items.
SILENT AUCTION
The silent auction begins at 5:30 pm. A bid sheet is displayed near each
item. To place a bid, write your last name, bid number, and amount of
your bid on the bid sheet. The initial bid amount and bid increments will
be indicated on each bid sheet; please honor them. To be valid, bids must
comply with the minimum bids and be legible. Signing your name and bid
amount on the bid sheet constitutes a legal contract to purchase the silent
auction item at the price you stated, if your bid is the winning bid. The last
(highest) valid bid entered prior to the table closing will be the winning bid.
LIVE AUCTION
The auctioneer will open bidding at the minimum bid amount. To bid
on an item, hold your card with your bidder number until the auctioneer
acknowledges your bid. The highest bidder acknowledged by the auctioneer
shall be the winner of the item (or “lot”). A bid acknowledged by the
auctioneer is a legal contract to purchase the item. If a group is bidding on
one item, please designate one person to place your combined bid.
PAYMENT
All items must be paid for by the end of the evening. We gladly accept credit
cards and personal checks made payable to “Chabot PTA.” To speed up
check-out, please have your credit card number registered when you check in.
ITEM PICK UP
Once you have paid your balance, you will be presented with your items.
If you purchased anything in the Online Auction, those items will be
available here as well. Please be sure to take your bag of goodies home!
