DAVID TRUBRIDGE
chez moaroom
David Trubridge is best known for his
eco‑conceived collection of wooden lights
made of wood from sustainable forrests.
By integrating the constraints of
‘flat‑packing’ into his collection of lights he
has succeeded in reducing transport to 1/40
of what it would be if they were delivered
assembled, and in-so-doing reduced
massively their carbon footprint.
His work has been included in the
collections of a number of international
museums (most notably recent acquisitions
for the permanent design collection of
the Centre Pompidou). His large range of
different computer modeled wooden forms,
and the possibility to increase the sizes of
these to quite substantial proportions has
led to them being integrated into projects
and public spaces by many respected
international architects.

The clever idea behind the Pi
System allows you to easily
conceive a variety of solidstanding tables just by inserting
planks or panels and pivoting the
metal legs into place. Without
using screws or bolts you can
have a personalized table with a
top made from solid wood, upcycled old beams or polished
concrete.
The legs are either available on
their own or with hand crafted
solid French oak panels for
interior use.
Both legs and tops are made in
France.

hanging object whose parts gently rotate about multiple axis,

PHIL CUTTANCE

Havinf worked for many years in New Zealand
as a furniture designer, Phil Cuttance opened
his own agency in London in 2009. In making
all of his prototypes himself his design
ideas evolves throughout the manufacturing
process as his knowledge of the materials
and various technics improves.
His trademark style has come from taking
this knowledge of the manufacturing
processes of the materials he takes an
interest in, and the marks these processes
leave on the materials which he integrates
into the final design and finish of the pieces
where others would have done their best to
hide them.
He exposes his work in Europe, North
America and Asia. His ‘Faceture’ project won
the 2013 design prize from the London Design
Museum.
FACETURE
Design Phil Cuttance
A water-based casting resin is moulded from a hand-made shape
by using a 0.5 mm plastic sheet. The mould’s final shape, and
strength, is dictated by which triangular facets I pop in and out.
Each vase is handmade, unique, and numbered on the base.
