Morning Keynote Topic
Taking Photography to the next level
This session will bring the audience into the
world of Drone Photography. What are the new
tools and what do you need to know about how
to use them? The session will also cover the post
processing of the high resolution images and
their presentation.
Keynote Speaker: Maurice Henri
Afternoon Keynote Topic
Cameras for healing - The Burdened Spirit
The mission of Cameras for healing is to support
emotional healing through photographic arts and creative
expression for those living with pain, grief, fear, poverty
or stress. We encourage and develop emotional
connections through visual arts in an effort to help
circumvent the element within us which repress what we
are willing or able to talk about. (This Keynote is
sponsored by Panasonic )

The Creation of High Speed Shutter Images:
Bharat Mistry
This demonstration session will explore the world of slowing down the world around so that we
can capture movement that the eye really does not see. The dropping for fruit into water and the effects
that the water makes at that moment; shooting the water stream in the park and thus turning the stream
into a silky flow that adds very creative look to the image; and capturing sports in all it’s glory. These are
just three of the many items that will be discussed and demonstrated in this session.
Preparing and Shooting for your Photographic Field Tour:
Jonathan Ward
This session will cover off the research that goes into locating, living arrangements and travel
documentation you will need in your chosen adventure. Equipment choices, packing, airline challenges all
will be covered here in the session. Finally some shooting techniques will also be explored.
Wedding Photography 101:
Joe LeDuc
This session is meant to give the photographer a basis understanding of the does and don’t
required to get into this area of photographic endeavors. It is exciting, challenging and most rewarding.
Shooting techniques, equipment required and how to post your images will also be touched upon is this
new tutorial offering.
The Plugins in your Post Processing: Tutorial CHANGE
Doug Hansgate
Topaz, Nik, On1 are just of the few of the popular plug ins available to you, the computer
orientated photographer. How do you use them and what processes are the y replacing when you use
either Photoshop or Lightroom as an example of your main operating Post Processing software.

Advanced Video Shooting with an SLR
Brian Young
This session is the second round in the education of our attendees that highlights the
extra features that the newer models of SLR and mirrorless camera provide on the video front. How to get the most out of
your camera in providing top quality moving pictures and good sound pick up in the field. How do you edit the video files
and how do you incorporate them into your photo essays will be touched upon in this session. ( This session is sponsored
by Vistek )
Shooting the Human Form
Tim MCGill
This is the second in our series of exploring the techniques of shooting
the male and female body in a studio controlled setting. The session will start with a 20 min presentation of creating mood
lighting, and posing the models for best angles and imaging. This is an active shooting session so you will bring your
cameras as you will have an opportunity to inter act and pose the model for your take shots. The session will be limited
attendance in order to allow adequate time to let the create juices flow.
Shooting Fashion and Beauty Lighting
Gary Goldberg
Have you ever wanted to know how to do a gorgeous beauty shot? We will do an introduction on a few different
lighting techniques for capturing great beauty and fashion photography, using portable electronic strobes, and what the
differences are between the two. We will be shooting with a professional model and tethering right to a Projector (using
Adobe Lightroom) so everyone can see the results instantly. Then everyone will get a few minutes to try this out, so bring
your cameras and imagination and let’s have some fun. If time permits we will touch on some basic techniques using
speedlights as well. ( This session is sponsored by Vistek )
How to work your Mirrorless Camera
Ameet Zalera
This session is a hands on approach to using your new mirrorless
Camera. Panasonic will be supplying a camera for you to use during this demonstration session. How to read and use the
many main and sub menus that you must familiarize yourself in order to become proficient photographer with this new
gear. How to use the touchscreens to cut down and speed up your settings in the camera under duress in order not to lose
the shot will be touched upon in this new style of tutorial.

Location
Built on a peninsula on Lake Couchiching, YMCA Geneva Park offers a rare
combination of extraordinary natural surroundings and proximity to urban
amenities. Our training and conference centre is only 90 minutes from Toronto,
but it’s a lifetime away from the stress of daily life.
Accommodations

•
Geneva Court and Geneva Lodge
Boasting a beautiful view of Lake Couchiching, each of our rooms has a single and
a double bed, or a queen size bed. There are two buildings of
accommodation: Geneva Court and Geneva Lodge. We provide desk top fans in all
our bedrooms, individual cup in-room coffee makers and private washrooms. Our
location provides the opportunity to connect and build relationships. For this
reason, we do not have televisions in our bedrooms. There is a common lounge
area with a television connected to satellite for those “must see” shows or to catch
the morning news.
Free time gathering lounge for attendees.
