B ack g r o u n d • Founded by entrepreneur and pilot Michael Chowdry, AAWW began operations in 1993 with one aircraft. • In November 2001, the Company acquired scheduled all-cargo carrier Polar Air Cargo, Inc., strengthening Atlas’s service portfolio and enhancing the Company’s military and commercial capability. • AAWW reinforced its market leadership by placing an order for 12 747-8 freighters in September 2006.
