The Season will be a series of concerts, which will provide a year of spectacular
music to commemorate and celebrate the 50th season of our professional
orchestra. With special guest artists, phenomenal music and recognition of
significant milestones in our history, each concert will in some way honor our
past and affirm our present while heralding our future. In the process, we seek to
build long-lasting cultural bridges within our community—all through the gift of
symphonic music. A successful “Season of Celebration” will require the RSO to
engage prominent musicians who will appeal to a large demographic in our area,
thus inciting even greater local interest in local orchestral music. We are confident
the interest generated in this celebratory season will secure RSO’s important
cultural presence in our Central Louisiana area for another five decades.

A consummate musician recognized for her grace,
subtlety and vitality, Orli Shaham has established an
impressive international reputation as one of today’s
most gifted pianists. The New York Times called her
a “brilliant pianist.” The Chicago Tribune recently
referred to her as “a first-rate Mozartean.”
Orli Shaham has performed with nearly all of the major
symphony orchestras in North America, from Boston to
Los Angeles and everywhere in between, as well as some
of the most important orchestras in Europe, Asia and
Australia including the BBC Symphony Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic Orchestra,
Orchestre National de France, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and many more.
Orli Shaham’s interactive concert series for young children, "Baby Got Bach", is
included in New York Magazine’s “Best of New York” list.
In addition to her musical education at the Juilliard School, Orli Shaham holds
a bachelor’s degree in history from Columbia University and pursued a master’s
degree in musicology at Columbia.
