Dear Friends,
It is a pleasure to be the head of delegation organized by
the Confederation of Industry of The Czech Republic to
Islamic Republic of Iran. The delegation consists of more
than 60 businessmen accompanying Minister of Industry
and Trade Mr. Jan Mladek. This number also indicates we
are aware of importance of Iran in the world economy.
The members of the delegation are operating in many
sectors such as machinery, energetics, logistics, mining,
pharmaceutical industry and medical technology, glass
industry, electrical engineering and others.
The Czech firms have very good experience and
capacities in those branches. The trade relations with
Iran have a long tradition dating back to the times of
the former Czechoslovakia. Our machinery equipment
and investments units which has been delivered mostly
after the World War II are well known and often still
operational. The brand “Czechoslovakia” still has not
vanished completely from the minds of Iranians.
According previous meetings of Iranian and Czech
representatives there are significant opportunities for
the Czech companies in the areas of retrofitting and
upgrading of power plants, pharmaceutical industry,
modernization of medical facilities and other branches
such as transportation means, machine tools, pumps,
glass industry, water treatment facilities etc.
In conclusion I would like to point out that we are not
viewing Iran only as an export territory, but also as a
partner, with whom we want to further promote friendly
relations.

The mission of EGAP is to provide credit insurance with
state support and thus assist Czech exporters, investors
and their banks in situations when they are unable to find
insurance for risks connected with financing of an export
or of a foreign investment on the market. This applies
