Perform as many pull-ups as possible. Each month PMRF
Fitness hosts a different fitness challenge in which everyone
is encouraged to improve their fitness levels. The purpose is
to encourage self-improvement and provide some friendly
competition. Each participant can try to improve their score
during the entire month in order to make the PMRF
Challenge Board.

It is resolution time and PMRF Fitness Center has the solution
for you! All participants will set up an appointment for a free
fitness consultation. During the consultation you will set 3 fitness
goals that must be reached by the end of the month. Those who
accomplish all 3 goals will receive a Resolution Solution T-shirt.
MLK CAPTAINS CUP SINGLES & DOUBLES
TENNIS TOURNAMENT

This will be a round robin tournament. Each player/team will
play each other and play dates will be flexible. Everyone must
sign up in the gym before Jan 13. Play dates will be flexible but
must be played before a pre-determined cut-off date. The bracket
and cut-off dates will be updated as the tournament progresses.
Points will be awarded for playing on time and for winning. The
point system will be posted in the gym. A crystal Captains Cup
Trophy goes to the department with the most points and medals
to the top players; event t-shirts also available.

T-shirts for those who register; medals will also be awarded

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:
AQUA FIT BY JERRICK FABRO
Hit the water for a refreshing low impact workout. Through a variety of water resistance exercises,
individuals will achieve a total body workout that will improve strength, endurance, and flexibility.
PMRF PERSONNEL.
Climb to the top of the Washington Monument as fast as
possible. Each month PMRF Fitness hosts a different fitness

LOVE BUG TRAIL RUN/ADVENTURE RACE

HIIT FIT BY JERRICK FABRO
This structured strength and conditioning workout utilizes short intervals of high intensity exercise paired
with longer intervals of low to moderate training. Through functional total body exercises, individuals
will be able to increase their strength and endurance and improve their overall fitness in a shorter
amount of time
FUNCTIONAL TRAINING BY JERRICK FABRO
A Total Body Fitness Class that uses one’s own bodyweight to improve overall fitness and function.
Through suspension training and foam roller training techniques, participants will develop strength and
endurance as well as improve flexibility and body function.
CIRCUIT TRAINING BY ERICK GREFFRATH
This is a fun and fast paced workout using a variety of training techniques to build overall strength,
endurance, and athletic ability. Class will meet in the gym but may go outside.
KARATE BY DUNYA ALFORD
Karate Tech MMA students will learn total self-defense by applying techniques, discipline and skills
such as kata, self-defense, weapon defense, sparring, grappling and more. Age four to adult at the
fitness center.
NOFFS TRAINING SERIES BY JERRICK FABRO
The class will use a variety of exercises inspired by the NOFFS Training Series (See descriptions below).
NOFFS (Navy Operational Fitness and Fueling System) is a complete fitness and nutrition program
tailored to meet the needs of every individual. NOFFS includes four training programs: the Operational
Series, Strength Series, Endurance Series, and Sandbag Series. All programs include warm-up, strength,
cardio, and flexibility exercises.
A great way to celebrate Valentine’s Day! Everyone (single or
couple) is invited to join us for this fun adventurous work-out.
Run or walk the beautiful Waiokapua trail and complete a variety
of challenges along the way. You may find special-gifts along the
way and special event T-shirts for pre-registered participants.

Kilauea Point is the northernmost point of land on the inhabited
Hawaiian Islands. Built in 1913, it was the first landfall seen
by ships arriving from the Orient. The view off the rugged
northern coastline and the deep-blue Pacific makes this the
perfect vantage point for photos. This is also the location of the
Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge, a sanctuary for seabirds.
Admission is $5 per person. Children 15 and under are free.
Afterwards we will visit the historic town of Kilauea for a bite to

WAIMEA TOWN CELEBRATION
February 15 - 22, 2014 will find the town of Waimea filled
with LIVE entertainment: a Hawaiian rodeo, canoe and stand
up paddle races, a celebration for Kaumuali’i - Kauai’s last king,
a film festival, softball and 3-on-3 basketball tournaments, a
fun run (10K, 5K, 2K), hat lei, ice cream eating and ukulele
contests, cultural exhibits and culminating in a 2-day Heritage of
Aloha Ho’olaule’a (2/21-2/22) with continuous entertainment
on the big stage with unique local foods, games and rides for the
keiki, craft vendors and a rum & beer garden for adults 21+.
KA MOKU O MANOKALANIPO PAANI MAKAHIKI

Ka Moku O Manokalanipo Paani Makahiki honors the traditional
time of year from November through February when Lono the
god of agriculture and peace ruled the land. One of the ways
that Lono was honored was through friendly competition. We’re
going to feature 10 games – Haka Moa, Ulu Maika, OoIhe,
Moa Pahee, Pa Uma, Uma, Kukini, Pohaku Hooikaika, and
Hukihuki, plus a Konane tournament. Kamaaina and Mailihini
(visitors) ages 5 and above are invited to compete in multiple
events. Awards will be given for 1st – 3rd in each event and
division, and for overall 1st – 3rd. There will also be cultural
demonstrations, community displays, a Kaua’i made craft fair
and ono food.

Historic Waimea
Walking Tour
Tour historic Waimea, the place where Captain Cook first
landed in Hawai`i. This town was once a major population
center and the home to ruling chiefs. Missionaries established
schools, and rice and sugar growers changed the landscape.
Every Monday, the FREE 90-minute tour begins at the
West Kaua`i Technology and Visitor Center at 9:30 am. For

Interpretive guides from the Kaua`i Historical Society give
90-minute walking tours on the history and architecture of
Kapa`a Town. Tours are held every Tuesday, Thursday, and
Saturday at 10am. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for
keiki under 12. The minimum tour size required is 2 adults.

Kauai Museum Tour
From Monday through Friday, docents provide interpretation
of Kaua`i and Ni`ihau culture as they lead tours through
the museum’s galleries. FREE tour with admission. The tour
occurs every Monday at 2pm, and every Tuesday through

Monthly Starwatch
Kaua`i is an ideal location for astronomical observation. The
Kaua`i Educational Association for Science & Astronomy
conducts a monthly starwatch in Kaumakani at the softball

`Ohana Day
Families and visitors are invited to join Kaua`i Museum for a
day of demonstrations, exhibits and fun. View native Hawaiian
art and artifacts preserved in the main exhibit. Held on the
first Saturday of every month. Admission is FREE. FMI call

Old Waimea Sugar
Plantation Walking Tour
Tour Waimea Plantation Cottages and the neighboring Waimea
Sugar Company “camp” houses, which date from the turn
of the century. Tours are held every Tuesday, Thursday and

Ukulele Concerts
