Join us as we travel the world, visiting Italy, Greece and China: Chicago Style!
Chicago is a mosaic, a city of neighborhoods settled by immigrants. Each
neighborhood exudes the sights, sounds and smells of many nationalities. Our
professional guide will take us through Greektown, a community that hales back
to its earliest settlers in the 1840s. The next stop will be Chicago’s Chinatown
where we will enjoy a wonderful lunch at Chinatown’s famed Phoenix Restaurant
and see unique architecture and pass by shops selling ethnic delicacies. The
final stop will be Little Italy where food is a culture and pizza and pasta reign
supreme. Dessert will be served at Pompei Restaurant before returning home.

Wednesday, October 14, 2015 • $89 per person
Reservation Deadline: September 10, 2015 • REGISTER ON PAGE 5
Did you know that Chicago is thought to be one of the most haunted place on
Earth. Join us if you dare, as we visit several purportedly haunted locations
around the area and hear the stories of the people, thought to linger through
the years, who have appeared from time to time to a fortunate or unfortunate
few. Our professional guide is a paranormal enthusiast, historian and published
author. You will hear the stories of Resurrection Mary, phantom monks and
young lovers. One of the sites we will visit is Snowmen’s Rest, a tribute to the
employees of the Hagenback-Wallace Circus that were killed in a train wreck.
We will also tour a home that was a stop on the Underground Railroad and visit
the home of former Senator John Humphrey. For our lunch, we will dine at Irish
Legend Pub, once a favorite of Al Capone and his gang. Please indicate your
meal choice on page 5.

Hundreds of films have been shot in whole or in part in Chicago. We will visit
30 different sites where over 80 films were shot. As we travel from location to
location, our professional guide will present us with video clips bringing the
actual locations to life. Movie buffs and couch potatoes alike will enjoy this
unique way to see Chicago. Our tour will include the filming locations for The
Blue Brothers, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, The Dark Knight and more. After our
tour we will enjoy lunch at Gino’s East, a favorite meal stop of Vince Vaughn and
the shooting location for several of his films. After lunch, we will make a stop at
Second City where so many actors and comedians got their first break before
circling back to make a few stops for photo opportunities.

Featured on national television, Branson On The Road is the kind of show you
thought was long gone in this day of overproduced music, overused special
effects and performers singing to tracks. This national touring show is in the
same tradition as the traveling road shows during the glory days of the Grand
Ole Opry, the Louisiana Hayride and the first Branson music shows.
The award-winning Branson On The Road keeps you tapping, laughing and
smiling from opening note to final curtain. The fast-paced, high energy show
will leave you with a smile on your face and humming a tune under your breath.
Enjoy the trip to Rock Island, IL where we will experience the show at Circa 21
Dinner Playhouse.

Bye Bye Birdie is a satire that takes place in 1958 and centers around a rock
and roll superstar (Conrad Birdie) who is drafted into the Army. His agent and
songwriter plan a farewell performance for Birdie on the Ed Sullivan Show that
they hope will provide publicity to sell his new song “One Last Kiss.” The pop
star will bid a typical American teenage girl goodbye with an all-American kiss.
Things come undone when her boyfriend becomes jealous and punches Birdie
out on national television. Join us for a frivolous and captivating musical at the
award winning Drury Lane Theatre in Oakbrook. Lunch will be a three course
meal. Please indicate your meal choice on page 5.

Christmas in St. Augustine
Dec. 2 – 9, 2015
To get all of the benefits of physical activity, try all four types of exercise — 1) endurance, 2) strength, 3) balance, and
4) flexibility.
1. Build up to at least 30 minutes of vigorous activity. Every day is best. That’s called an endurance activity
because it builds your energy or “staying power.” You don’t have to be active for 30 minutes all at once. Ten minutes
at a time is fine.
2. Keep using your muscles. Strength exercises build muscles. When you have strong muscles, you can get up
from a chair by yourself, you can lift your grandchildren and you can easily walk through the park. Keeping your
muscles in shape helps prevent falls that cause problems like broken hips. You are less likely to fall when your leg
and hip muscles are strong.
3. Do things to help your balance. Try standing on one foot, then the other. If you can, don’t hold on to anything for
support. Get up from a chair without using your hands or arms. Every now and then walk heel-to-toe. As you walk,
put the heel of one foot just in front of the toes of your other foot. Your heel and toes should touch or almost touch.
4. Stretching can improve your flexibility. Moving more freely will make it easier for you to reach down to tie
your shoes or look over your shoulder when you back the car out of your driveway. Stretch when your muscles are
warmed up. Don’t stretch so far that it hurts.
Exercise should not hurt or make you feel really tired. You might feel some soreness, a little discomfort, or a bit
weary, but you should not feel pain.
For informational purposes only, consult a doctor before attempting activities described. This article was adapted from information provided
by National Institute on Aging.
