Welcome To "Doc's Diner"
My wife Mary Lynn and I moved to the fabulous Florida Keys in 1975. As a young newly licensed Optometrist my
wife and I had planned a short two month working vacation in Key Largo. Our vacation plans quickly changed
when we fell in love with the people, the Florida Keys life style, and the fabulous weather. A decision was made to
move and raise our family in the Keys. That was over thirty five years ago. In the early days of my practice, I often
earned extra income by being a mate on a wide variety of commercial fishing vessels. It was not uncommon to find
me on a boat chasing ballyhoo bait, or on a stone crab and lobster boat; yes, I even did a little long- lining to make
ends meet. The days were long and the work was hard but I felt fortunate to be working on the water. As time
passed, Mary Lynn and I were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Gina Maria and Christina Gianna.
It is not unusual to have the whole family serving you at Doc’s Diner.
Many times I have been asked, “Why would a full time Optometrist buy a restaurant?” My answer is “because I
love it! “ Raised in a traditional Italian family, food was the heart and soul of my household experience. I love and
enjoy everything about food and I want to share my passion with each and every customer. Whether you stop by
for a cup of fresh brewed coffee or order an item from our extensive menu my family and I strive to provide you
with the best dining experience possible. We take great pride knowing that we prepare our food from the
freshest ingredients available. Doc’s delicious pancakes and waffles are made fresh daily as is our famous “made
from scratch,”Key Lime Pie. Every Tuesday during the month we offer a traditional Italian special for lunch.
I personally supervise the preparation of our homemade Italian food for our “Italian Tuesday “ lunch menu.
My staff and my family are dedicated to serving you in a quick, clean, efficient manner. Their loyalty and
dedication has helped Doc’s maintain a reputation for good food at a good value.
