Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers
This flavorful selection is a salty, spicy, and cheesy appetizer that is sure to be a hit. It doesn’t get any easier than jalapeños filled with your favorite cheese and wrapped in bacon. Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Poppers Easy summer tailgating staple for gameday step one: gather • 6 Jalapeño peppers • 8 oz. cream cheese • 4 oz. smoked Gouda step TWO: cut • 1lb or 12 slices of bacon (not thick cut) • Brown sugar (optional) • Cut jalapeños length-wise in ½ and deseed • Shred smoked Gouda • Soften cream cheese, add shredded Gouda step Three: stuff step four: wrap • Fill pepper halves with cheese mixture (there may be leftover cheese) • Completely wrap pepper with bacon* to cover cheese (should be able to stay wrapped on its own) • Sprinkle bacon with brown sugar step five: cook • Arrange on a cookie sheet on parchment •Cook at 350° until bacon is crisp, or grill over indirect heat (never over open flame) until bacon is crisp. *If you’re having trouble keeping the bacon secured, use toothpicks that have been soaked in water for 30 minutes prior.
