© d&g escapism © miss sixty © montebello An unapologetic return to decadence is reflected through the use of decorative prints, elaborate embellishments and the use of luxe high gloss, shimmer and resined coatings on dark and mid grey washes. Ornate metallic embellishments, antiqued washes and potassium sprayed areas are inspired by the 1920s whilst poetic imperfections, romantic roses and Russian paisley prints, often contrasted against rich velvet and silk fabrics, push for a shabby chic aesthetic. © william rast © diesel © montebello origin Strongly influenced by South American countries, authentic and vintage wash indigo, rusted reflections and subverted indigenous prints, are seen with worn aged techniques and crackled or scraped off resin coatings. Heavy chevrons, hand sanding and surface abrasions give denim an authentic aged look, whilst worsted wool like textures, muted plaid optics and textural embroideries give denims a handcrafted appeal. In terms of detailing, re-enforced yokes, chunky exposed zippers, back buckles and leather appliqué patches, highlight an underlining equestrian feel to the trend. ute ploier ©© richard chai cleanse © kira chalayan plastinina © hussein jean © flickr©- earl hypergurl Unwashed selvedge, engineered indigo fabrics and the use of multiple dye and asphalt resin coatings, with structural pockets, reinforced multiple seams and heavy rivets are key to achieve a future factory look. Naturally sun faded washes and denims treated with ice or snow washes, heavy bleaching, subtle feathering and abrasion effects or coatings with subtle iridescence soften the trend, often adding a soft sensual and cleansing glow to voluminous harem and super slouch jeans.
