Connections Corner
The Leavenworth RCCP will be showing Meet Me in St. Louis as the first performance of their 2015
season. The connections team would love to have a group from FUMC come together for dinner and a
show on Friday March 6th. We will meet for dinner at a downtown restaurant - to be determined - at
6pm, the show starts at 8pm. If you are interested in dinner and the show - or just the show, please
contact Laurie Rust at 913-682-6925 for reservations. The show has many other dates, please visit
their website at RCCPLV.COM for more information.
Girl Scout Sunday
Girl Scout Sunday will occur on Sunday, March 8th this year. If you have kids that are
involved in the girl scouts, we would invite them to wear their scouting uniforms on
that Sunday. Scouting programs, the scouts, and their leaders are an integral part of
the Church’s ministry.
Communion Sunday Change for April
The celebration of the sacrament of Holy Communion will take place on Maundy Thursday during the
month of April. Since we are celebrating Holy Communion during this service, there will not be Holy
Communion on Easter Sunday, April 5th. Our Maundy Thursday service is on April 2nd at 7:00pm. This
worship service will be a dramatic and musical rendering of the seven last words of Christ. Please join
us as we celebrate the Eucharistic meal and reflect upon the final words of Christ.
Weather related closings or opening delays of the church office for inclement weather will
follow the lead of Fort Leavenworth. If the Fort Leavenworth Post Employee and Road
Status (http://garrison.leavenworth.army.mil/News/Road-Status.aspx and/or 913-684-1600)
states that the post is closed because of weather, the church office will be closed. If the
Post Employee and Road Status states that there is a delay because of weather, the church
office will observe the same delay. This policy is only applicable for the church office and staff, not the
church programs. Church programs have their own weather related policies.

Every year our church sponsors weekly breakfasts each Wednesday
during Lent. Breakfasts start at 6:30 AM, followed by a guest speaker. You’ll be on your way to work by 7:15 AM. What a great way to

Church Spring Clean-up. March 14th, 8:00 – 12:00
Volunteers are needed for our annual Spring
Clean-up. We will be sprucing up the outside of the
church. Volunteers are asked to bring, rakes,
clippers/trimmers and large plastic bags. Donuts and
coffee will be provided.
