Welcome and Introductions: The meeting was called to order at 8:05 am by Tim Julius.
Approval of Minutes: The minutes from the October, November and December meeting were reviewed
and approved.
Site Operator Presentation: The WorkSource Site Operator team from Employment Security
Department, ResCare Workforce Services and Refugee and Immigrant Services Northwest gave an
update on Program Year 2012, first quarter services. New enrollments, participants served, training
placements, employment placements, National Emergency Grant, WorkSource Youth Center, veteran
services, services for employers, services to limited English speakers, connection sites, and WorkSource
initiatives were reviewed.
Resource Fair: Jack Husband gave an update on the upcoming Resource Fair. The fair will be held on
January 18th from 10am-2pm at WorkSource Everett. Resources and assistance for housing, job search,
transportation, child care, food assistance, senior programs, healthcare, mental health support,
veterans’ services, utility assistance, financial survival and services for people with disabilities will be
available. The DSHS mobile service van will be present as well as Snohomish County Health District to
provide flu shots. Space was generously provided by the City of Everett.
Public Comment: Sue Ambler announced that WDCSC will be holding back 10% of the annual budget in
response to the uncertain funding predictions. This will not reduce services to clients.
Sue Ambler indicated that in response to a lack of bus service near WorkSource Monroe, WDCSC is now
leasing a Dodge van.
Sue Ambler announced that for a two week period, after every workshop offered, clients will have an
opportunity to give instant feedback through a wireless audience response system.
Meeting adjourned: Meeting was adjourned at 9:00 am
Next meeting: February 12, 2013
