RiverArts is a member-supported, nonprofit organization that
provides arts programming for the community, promotes the talents
of our local artists and artisans, and strives to nurture a climate of
creativity on the Eastern Shore. We offer classes, lectures, one-day
demonstrations and weekend workshops that teach skills at various
levels. RiverArts instructors are talented and experienced artists
or artisans who love to teach and work with students of all ages.
Many participate in the studio tour and holiday sale.

through historic Chestertown and picturesque Kent and Queen
Anne’s Counties. You’ll meet 54 artists and artisans in their studios,
learn about their techniques and treat yourself to great original art
at studio prices! Stop by the RiverArts Gallery to help plan your
itinerary and preview examples of each artist’s work. There’s a lot
to see with 4 days over 2 weekends to see it all!

December 26. A large variety of reasonably priced, one-of-a-kind
gifts will be displayed in the RiverArts gallery, all created by

Melinda returned to painting en plein air and studio painting following a career in journalism and public affairs. She minored in art
and painted whenever possible while pursuing degrees in English.
She is drawn to the captivating landscapes and seascapes of the
Eastern Shore, especially the rivers, creeks and streams of the
Chesapeake Bay.

Linda is a multi-generational Eastern Shore native and has been
photographing people, places, and milestones in Maryland since

Kathy is a graduate of Washington College, with a BA in Art, and is
a certified art teacher. She works primarily in pastels and acrylics
and has studied with colorist Sam Feinstein of New York. Horses,
cows, and landscapes are among her favored subjects, reflecting
her years as a horsewoman, riding instructor, and her life on a dairy
farm. Presently, she does animal portraits and takes commissions.

Mary Pritchard is an award-winning pastel artist known for her landscapes of Maryland’s Eastern Shore as well as coastal Maine and
rural Nova Scotia. She is particularly attracted to fields, rivers and
farmyards where the man-made environment interacts with nature.
A popular workshop instructor, her gallery representation includes
Bishops Stock, Snow Hill, MD; Carla Massoni Gallery, Chestertown,

walnut, cherry, maple and mahogany stock. Bob enjoys explaining
his unique studio, which has machines mounted on wheels for

Marcy is a portrait artist, teacher, graphic designer, illustrator,
printmaker and painter. Her paintings are a slightly abstracted view
of the Chester River and it’s environs, concerned more with the
geometry of the marsh grasses along its edge.

Patty graduated with a degree in Art. She is a member of River
Arts, and the Working Artists Forum at the Academy Museum in
Easton, MD. Her watercolors and photographs are primarily of
landscapes, florals and architecture, of the Maryland’s Eastern

Terry’s work is expressed in watercolor, oil, and the ancient medium
of egg tempera. Recently he has been adding gold leaf and precious stones to his egg tempera figurative work adding a new and
exciting tool for expressing his ideas.

Howard and Mary work in various mediums, including painting,
drawing and photography, but they focus primarily on natural
materials such as branches, vines, oyster shells, stones, bones,
and feathers. Most of their works are large, site-specific outdoor
sculptures, however their studio work includes smaller sculptures,
artist’s books and paintings incorporating natural materials.
> Take Route 213 south just past Church Hill, right on Island Creek
Rd., left at T-intersection onto Land’s End Rd., after about 3 miles,
bear right at fork, then take immediate right onto Spaniard Neck
Rd., .25 mile to slight right onto Indiantown Farm Ln., then take 1st

Rob, who apprenticed and worked as a toolmaker, uses mild steel
to create open metal vessels and wall hangings. He uses different
