Who is Daddy Mac anyway?
My father-in-law, Dennis MacDonald, is “Daddy Mac”. Our shared
respect and dedication to the sport of fishing, along with our
combined 75+ years of commercial and recreational experience has
led to our incredible success on the water. However, no matter how
much success you have fishing, you always look for ways to increase
your catch and improve your techniques.

In an effort to do just that, we began creating our own fishing lures with the features and designs that we knew would work and
work well. When word spread throughout the fishing community, we began filling requests from fellow fisherman and charter
captains who wanted our lures. Before long, we could no longer keep up with the demand. Creating and pouring molds, as well
as airbrushing and epoxy coating our lures was too time consuming to meet the volume of requests we were receiving.
It was then that we realized, much to our surprise, that it was time to
transform our passionate hobby into a legitimate business.
Well, what a difference a year makes! The enormous success we’ve
experienced has driven the expansion of our product lines. Our
casting jig lines now include a wider variety of colors, shapes and
sizes. We’ve added a line of soft plastics (Wigglers) and swimmers
(DM Minnows), along with many new and exciting products being
introduced for 2014. (see page 2)

Sportfishing
(www.monomoysportfishing.com) has over 20 years of commercial and
30+ years of recreational fishing experience in the waters off Monomoy
and the Outer Cape. Along with his USCG 50-Ton Masters License,
Darren holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Science & Coastal
Processes from Cornell University. He is also a graduate of Sea Education
Association where he spent 12 weeks in study and he has also worked
on numerous commercial fishing vessels out of Chatham and New
Bedford. Captain Darren has a unique understanding of the physical
oceanography and that knowledge, together with his years of experience
on the water, have made him a well known and respected Charter Captain.
Captain Bill Killen has fished the waters of Cape Cod and the Islands
since 1972. He acquired his commercial fishing license in 1990, and his
United States Coast Guard Masters License in 2005. Captain Bill is a
widely recognized and highly regarded fisherman who owns and operates
a very successful Charter business on the Cape - Captain Bill’s Fishing
Charters. As a retired Veteran, Captain Bill served with the Massachusetts
Air National Guard and United States Air Force for a total of forty years.
Upon his retirement, he Captained a dive boat for five years taking divers to
shipwrecks all around Cape Cod. As a result of his passion and experience,
he is highly regarded as a pillar of the Cape Cod fishing community. Captain
Bill continues to enjoy much success as a commercial and charter fisherman.

“In 2013 we were fortunate enough to come in contact with Jack Houghton and his Daddy Mac Lures! Being a die hard Jig fisherman (we are
Jigged Up Sportfishing after all) I have tried virtually every jig company available and have honestly benched some so called “high end” and
drastically overpriced jig manufacturers and ran Daddy Macs on charters with excellent success! Without telling fish tales we proved that the
jigs PROFILE, not so much color is what these Cape Cod Striped Bass
trigger on to strike!!! When the tinker macs came inshore we gave them
a Daddy Mac Attack on the Trophy Series in Pollock or Green Mackerel. When the sandeels were tiny the Elite Series bailed us out on many
trips when the fish had lockjaw, both the 1.4 and 2.8 oz in the sand eel
pattern versions rocked on certain days. Also, I did run a green mackerel Trophy Series with an assist hook every time I had a charter when
one angler struggled with the vertical jigging technique! These anglers
just dropped the jig to the bottom and reeled up slow and steady until the rod doubled over!!! This technique gave some VERY NOVICE fisherman some giant bass off Chatham! The big fish keyed on
the bigger profile!!! More Daddy Mac Attacks coming up in 2014!!!”
