Over 60% of OPS professional staff is certified through the National Institute of Government Purchasing (NIGP) or the Virginia Institute of Procurement (VIP). Revenues from Public Auctions of surplus equipment and computers, combined with rebates obtained through the Cooperative Purchasing and P-Card Programs exceeded $1.6 million in FY14. FAST FACTS • • • • In FY14 the Warehouse generated approximately $1.9 million in cost avoidance due to initiatives such as redeployment of surplus assets, textbook rebinding, and distribution of chairs and tables on a loaner basis. In FY14 the Warehouse produced and supported over 4,600 Elementary Science Kits through its production and replenishment process. The OPS “Pony” mail service has 8 daily routes, which handle approximately 1.5 million pieces of internal mail and 2.8 million pieces of USPS mail annually.
