Housing Eligibility
• Any house or apartment (i.e. townhome, single
family detached, semi or mobile home.
• If you are a homeowner/tenant, you must be
paying your own electricity (or live in social
housing).
• For tenant in a social and/or assisted building, the
housing provider will apply on your behalf.

Eligibility Criteria

c) A Resident of Social / Assisted Housing
Residential social housing includes all non-profit housing developed,
acquired or operated under a federal, provincial or municipally funded
program including shelters/hostels.
Examples of residential social housing are:
• Non-profit corporations as outlined in Housing Services Act 2011
• Non-profit housing co-operatives as defined in the Co-operative
Corporations Act
• Non-profit organizations or municipal/provincial governments
that manage/own residential supportive housing, shelters and hostels
New Rules for Social Housing
The Social / Assisted Housing building
owner/manager applies on behalf of all
tenants (no other applications are needed)
We only need tenant to sign consent form if we replace items they own,
such as freezer, window a/c, or lights in lamps
Tenants have the option to book a set time for the audit when they will
be home
For all other upgrades, the Building Management can allow access (with
appropriate notice), and sign consent form
