Less than 7 hours from the UK, the diverse Province of Québec is closer
than you may think. Explore the cobbled streets of Vieux Montréal,
enjoy the café culture and fantastic shopping before setting off on
your adventure. Head north to St Michel des Saints and Auberge du Lac
Taureau, where hiking, kayaking and black bear observation are available,
then continue on to Sacacomie Lodge, with its Geos Spa and lakeshore
beach. Optional guided activities include riding, hiking, helicopter/
seaplane flights, black bear viewing and First Nations cultural visits.
Travel east to UNESCO World Heritage site Québec City, the only walled
city in North America with a vibrant mix of French and English cultures.
Perhaps visit the historic Plains of Abraham and Petit Champlain for local
arts and crafts. Head south of the St Lawrence to the Eastern Townships
through beautiful rural scenery and pretty villages to Sherbrooke with its
many parks and gardens. This tour ends with the pleasant drive back to
Montréal for your flight home.

Chemin du Roy follows the St Lawrence River from Montréal, passing
through pretty villages and hamlets hugging the shore nearly all the way
to Québec City. After sampling life in the cities continue to Tadoussac,
famous for whale watching cruises. From here take a ferry across the St
Lawrence River to Trois Pistoles, and onward along the southern shore.
Québec is dotted with National Parks and Wildlife Refuges, including the
Gaspésie National Park where Gite du Mont Albert, a chalet style property
offers hiking and wildlife viewing opportunities. Return to the coast and
the far eastern point of the Gaspé Peninsula at Percé, take a boat tour
around the Percé Rock and watch for whales.
Birdwatchers will enjoy Carleton-sur-Mer, where a sandbar attracts
great blue herons and terns, water sports are also available. View local
architecture in Rivière-du-Loup, visit the various museums and restored
manor house before returning to Québec City for last minute shopping.
