Tuition Assistance Who can participate? Graduates beginning with the class of 2011 and beyond, who have been continuously enrolled in EUHSD schools in grades 9-12 MAP your Future Requirements Students upon graduation must: Complete all A-G course requirements with a “C” or better and overall minimum GPA of 3.00 Demonstrate mastery level of college entry-level math and English skill requirements on any of the following: Advanced Placement College Entrance exams (ELM, EPT) Entry Level Math (ELM)and English Placement Exam (EPT) SAT or ACT exam CSU Early Assessment Program(EAP) Spring of 11th Maintain a 98% attendance record over all four years(exceptions for verified medical excuse) Take the SAT or ACT 100 hours of community service or certificates of completion for 3 years of participation in Band, Cheer, Choir, Athletics, or other comparable after school related activities. Complete/Apply for the FAFSA(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and complete GPA Verification by March 2 of senior year. NCAA Eligibility Division I & II Eligibility Requirements Graduate from high school Complete 16 Core Subjects (32 semesters) 4 years of English 3 years of Math (Algebra 1 or higher) 2 years of natural or physical science(including 1 year of lab science) 1 year extra of English, Math, or Natural/Physical science 2 years of Social Science 4 Extra Years from any category or Foreign Language, Nondoctrinal Religion or Philosophy NCAA Eligibility (cont.) Earn a minimum required grade point average in your core courses; and Earn a combined SAT or ACT sum score that matches your core course grade-point average and test score sliding scale. As a Cougar, you will participate in a competitive program that will allow you to have many personal successes while having fun! You will make new friends, develop new skills, and be associated with fine coaches that contribute to the strongest winning tradition in the North County. At Escondido High School we have individual sports, and we are continually trying to meet the needs of our studentathletes. The opportunity to add to our student-athlete’s education, character, emotional and physical development is of vital importance through extra-curricular athletics at Escondido High School. Additional Benefit: Students are encouraged to purchase an ASB card at $25.00. ATTENTION PARENTS: Our school district does not provide medical insurance coverage for students who are injured at school. The district does offer information regarding low cost supplemental student medical insurance. This medical insurance information will be available at the beginning of school with other student information. Parents are encouraged to purchase this medical insurance for their uninsured student. An Emergency Procedure Card, which includes proof of insurance coverage, a physical, performed by a medical doctor, and parental consent to participate. 2. A signed CIF Ethics Code for sports. 3. A signed Escondido High School Athletic Contract. 4. A signed CIF Sports Injury Risk Warning and Agreement. 5. A minimum 2.00 GPA in four classes.
