Freshman Academy Schedule
6 classes a day
4 classes are 43 minutes long.
2 classes are 90 minutes long.
Academy courses
3 core teachers who meet together
each week.
Build relationships between
teachers and students.
Modified Block Scheduling
90 minute “block” classes will
have final grades every 10 weeks.
43 minute “skinny” classes will have final
grades every 20 weeks. (Progress grades
will be reported at 10 weeks).
All students still have 8 credits each year.

on a “weighted” GPA.
Honors Courses – additional 0.5

Alternate Classes
Students must choose 5 alternate classes in
addition to the 8 credits already selected.
Students should take their time choosing
alternate classes.
Due to scheduling constraints, students will most
likely get at least one of their alternate classes.
Special Note: If space is needed for more academic,
world language, or music courses, students may
postpone Health, PE, or Speech.
