Initially, the get together was planned to be an outdoor event, but the weather changed that. Wade and Paula Nichols (GSBCC club members and owners of Wahoo's and Bovine’s) did an amazing job, and we all convened at the bar area to the left of the main entrance. This proved to be an excellent location as this area was the perfect size to accommodate the group, being large enough to handle us, but small enough to give a more cozy feeling. (see Wahoo’s continued next page) The Journal of Loose Nuts and Broken Spokes GSBCC’s NEWSLETTER GSBCC Officers and Committee Chairs APRIL 2014 page 2 Some GSBCC members are planning to caravan up. I have applications which are due by April 17. The members of the NCMGCC are a nice group of people who really are very active and enjoy driving their cars ... one member who was present drove his car from Florida to be a part of their annual Coastal Tour. I learned that they have travelled as far as Maine on some of their club tours. Their 18th annual show, The Triangle British Classic Car & Motorcycle Show, will be held on May 17th at the North Hills Mall in Raleigh. Jim Smith debuted our recently purchased club banner which will be a part of all of our events going forward. Nice job, Jim! New members John and Georgene Lorussa and Alan and Laurel Ginsberg were present, further expanding the 'Jaguar Contingent' of our club. We were also very happy to see Rick Chandler, who has been having more than his share of medical challenges recently. And it was nice to finally meet Marla Cozart, wife of member Dr. Ralph. The two events that we have had so far this year have really been a lot of fun, and I encourage members to come on out and get involved ... you will enjoy yourselves. Special thanks to Felicia for her efforts coordinating this event. I felt that people could mingle and socialize more in our bar area. We were expecting 40-50 people. Thought you would like to know we had at least 63 in attendance. Bill and Debbie Hawkins had given me a head count of 30 people for their club so the BCC had a good turn out to support the Raleigh Club. Wish we could have had a little more sunshine, but at least it wasn't pouring rain. Please let us know if we can help again. We will do our best to accommodate the club. Sincerely, Paula Nichols The Journal of Loose Nuts and Broken Spokes GSBCC’s NEWSLETTER Monthly Meeting Minutes by Bill Unger, Temporary Secretary The meeting was called to order at about 6:45 pm at T Bonz Steakhouse, on April 8, 2014 by President Jim Hendricks. New members Judy Lee and Bob Hurt were introduced. Judy steers a 1953 MG TD while Bob navigates a 1976 MGB. Patsy Hoch stood in for Greg, Events Chairman, and gave an accounting of the meet up the North Carolina MG Car Club in Murrell’s Inlet. Twenty two members with four Brit cars from the GSBCC attended. The “Rims on the Water” car show will be in Wilmington on Apr. 19. Treasurer Jim Smith reported a balance of $1957 in the bank. A new GSBCC banner cost $106, new shirts and caps were purchased, and $65 was spent for website virus protection. Plans were discussed for the Oct. 5 2nd GSBCC Britfest. Volunteers are welcomed to participate. Meeting adjourned about 8:00 pm.
