GooseBumps Project #1- Bamboo Resist Journal
Project designed by John Petersen
Tsukineko supplies GooseBumps texture spray; Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves;
Memento Bamboo Leaves, Potter’s Clay, Rhubarb Stalk and Rich Cocoa
Brass Stencil Dreamweaver- “Bamboo”
Paper cardstock: natural with texture (1 sheet), olive green (2 sheets); white or
natural text weight paper (2 sheets)
Other Supplies blank journal/book, brayer, fibers, adhesive of choice, fibers
Project Directions
Step 1 Ink brayer on the pad, making sure
to ink all the way around the brayer’s roller
by spinning the roller after adding ink. Roll
brayer across paper then repeat until desired
color and pattern are achieved.
Step 2 Lay stencil down on top of inked
cardstock and spray with GooseBumps
texture spray approximately 4 to 6 inches
above the cardstock, holding down the stencil
when needed. Allow to dry completely.
Step 5 Using the completed journal in the
image above, complete your journal with
the pieces created in the previous steps.
Cover front and back cover of journal with
olive cardstock. Spray the covered journal
with GooseBumps to add texture and dimension. Layer the distressed background
paper (Step 4) with coordinating cardstock
(option) and the Bamboo Resist after cutting/sizing to fit journal cover. Add fibers
around spine of the journal for a quick and
easy accent!
GooseBumps Tips
.Drying time varies based on coverage
and surface texture/type
.GooseBumps dries clear; water resistant
when dry
.Distance from project when sprayed
determines GooseBumps texture
(farther=finer, closer=concentrated)
.Always rinse nozzle and flush sprayer
with warm water immediately after
each use for best spray results
Step 3 Once Bamboo resist pattern has
dried, apply coordinating Memento dye
inks direct to paper. Wipe excess ink from
GooseBumps resist with a damp paper
towel or baby wipe to reveal the resist!
Step 4 To create a layered background,
follow Step #1 to ink both sheets of text
weight paper. Crinkle inked paper,
unfold, then distress with coordinating
Memento dye ink pads.
