Primary students enjoyed a day of in their own festival Ringi-Chingi-2013

More than 300 primary students assembled for a unique children’s festival at
Azim Premji Foundation’s district institute campus in Dhamtari on 8th October,13.
The annual function was specially organized for the children of the rural and
urban areas of the district. Activities like origami, expression, science,
mathematics, magic, painting, puppet etc. were organized where children were
free to participate in with their choice.
“The entire ambience is very attractive, I love the puppets and I am also enjoying
the face painting.” says Lokesh from Charra village. Another student named Gaytri
says she loves the pot making in clay and origami.

The students from the Government primary school of Charra played “ Bechaara
hand pump “ a thought provoking play in hindi written by Habib Tanveer, which
succeeded to spread the message to create awareness about water conservation !
On the other hand the students from Gopalpuri & Bodra government schools
presented some local dances which appreciated by both children as well adults.
60 members of the institute too participated in the event and were in charge
of different corners, activities etc.

“Children are the main focus in the education system, and we are trying to make
an environment which should be children friendly and this just a manifestation of
the same where we don’t do any competition rather provide them an
environment to open up and express themselves and learning by practice.” says
the team leader of the foundation Mr. Sunil Sah explaining about the objective
behind organizing this event.
Besides students from 30 villages, around 50 teachers and officials and an equal
numbers of members from the school management committees from different
villages were present.
