Dear Skier,
The Helicopter was the most exciting part of my first time heli-skiing. Like graduating
from the rope-tow to riding my first chair-lift, it transcending me to a place, to an elevation that I otherwise believed I was incapable of gaining on my own. Now a days, I’m
just as content walking up, step-by-step, where I trade vertical for time on the snow. Ski
Touring is just the next chapter in my life as a skier.
For the first time in our 13 years of existence, I’ve become as inspired with the mountains as I have been on skiing down them. With the added time that Ski Touring has
offered me, I have learned to appreciate the small nuances that make good skis, and
good friends, great.
This new collection is all about the minor tweaks for me. I learned we needed to lighten
some our Freeride skis to make it more fun to walk around in the mountains with. I
learned how to nose butter and thus realized we needed more rocker in our park skis.
I revisited my hometown ski hill in Wisconsin and realized how much fun skiing moguls
was again, so we made a mogul ski.
Through these experiences I find great appreciation for the fact that I have an outlet to
express my ideas. 4FRNT is for me, as is for so many other skiers out there, a place
where our memories and our minor tweaks are Shaping Skiing.

We’re not sure whether this Canadian is becoming better known for his constant childish
grin or his smooth and effortless style floating down pillows across British Columbia. After
years of delivering top performances in Matchstick Productions and Sweetgrass films it
seems, however, the two are correlated. Eric appears as if he is consistently in the happiest
of places, so we decided we wanted to be a part of that. Working with Eric over the last
decade has helped us design some of our favorite and most timeless skis. The Renegade,
Hoji, Raven and the Reflect-Tech™ concept can all be attributed to Eric and as skiers
across the globe put these sticks under their feet, they’ll soon know where that ongoing
smirk and perpetual smile comes from.

It’s no surprise that this guy is the longest standing member of 4FRNT athletes. Every
year we anxiously await spring to see the footage Wiley has compiled over the season.
Somewhere in there amid the creative lines and nose-butter seven’s there is always a clip
that drops jaws and reminds us who is the king of the backcountry step-down. From all of
the future groms out there to the retired bump skiers ripping up the backcountry, we can
always look to Wiley for a source of inspiration and a new way to see the mountain.

There is no bare minimum and no bar for Kye. The experience of this individual by the time
he reached adulthood is that of what mountain goers search for in a lifetime. Bringing Kye
on board has meant we get to latch onto this experience and learn how we can better the
skis we make and the products we deliver to outfit the most adventurous and hard charging skier. The KYE series is truly a testament to all freeskiers looking to become more well
rounded, diversified enthusiasts of this uniquely great sport.

REFLECT TECH
Eric Hjorleifson conceived ReflectTech™ in order to make rocker and side-cut work together.
A common problem with reverse camber skis is their inability to ski edge to edge consistntley.
Along with sidecut, this pairing caused the tips to hook and the tails to wash out with the ski
on edge. With ReflectTech™, the rocker radius and the side-cut radius match, allowing the
ski to edge smoothly, creating predictable carving in all conditions. ReflectTech™ virtually
eliminates tip hook. The ski will engage smoothly along it’s entire length, while still giving you
the float and pivotability of a fully rockered ski. You can find ReflectTech™ in the Renegade,
HOJI, HOJI W, Devastator and Aretha.
VIBE VEIL
Vibe Veil™ is an elastic membrane situated in the tips of our rockered skis which dramatically
reduces chatter and weak edge hold, commonly the result of an extended negative radius
tip profile when used in varied to firm snow conditions. We discovered use of this material
from the marine industry where seacraft designers line the interior of boat hulls to soften the
compounding blows of rough seas, all the way to public transportation where automotive engineers dampened the high pitch vibrations found in buses, light rails, and trams. All 2016/17
skis featuring VibeVeil™ have a transparent window logo highlighting the very material used in
each ski. You can find VibeVeil™ in the Renegade, Raven, HOJI, HOJI W, Devastator, Aretha,
and the KYE series.
CONTOUR CORE
Our women’s skis feature shapes similar to our men’s line however we set these skis apart
with our, women’s specific, ContourCore™ construction. Women tend to drive a ski from their
hips which generates forces down through their heels. With our women’s cores, we’ve moved
the weight of the core rearwards (5cm) to accommodate this more centered skiing style. This
lets women drive the true center of the core weight instead of constantly fighting from behind,
while still being centered over the side cut. You can find ContourCore™ in the HOJI W, Aretha,
Madonna and Blondie.
REVERSIBLE GRAPHIC
A common problem when designing ski graphics is making the graphic work on both skis and
still make a single image. A common problem as a skier is when you ding the inside edge of
a ski in which you are forced to make that edge an outside edge, you now have changed the
orientation of the graphic. Reversible graphics is our solution.

The now 15% lighter KYE110 is most commonly used by Big Mountain skiers, Patrollers and
Mountain Guides. Kye Petersen shaped this
model to be his big mountain ski however once
you get a couple laps on it, you realize this may
very well become your everyday ski of choice.
The tapered and rockered tip accommodates
ease of control in powder yet the GS style turn
radius provides stability and a trusty no-hook
feel for hard charging through the crud.

Ride em Cowboy, the Gaucho is our shape
for the all mountain resort skier. Be it you ski
on the ice coast, the flat lands of the Midwest or the deep, steep and wet Northwest,
there is no condition to rough and tough for
the Gaucho. We shaped the Gaucho with a
minimally tapered and rockered twin tip design, supported by a sub 20m turn radius for
quick and playful turns down fall line. When
the conditions get icy, the Titanal construction provides unreal edge hold so that even

Kye Petersen narrowed the waistline on this
model but didn’t take away any of its ability to outperform its wider counterparts. The
extended taper and rocker tip shape float in
the widest variety of snow conditions while
keeping the skier forward on the tips. With
the lowest tail height in its class, the 95’s extended running surface and shorter turn radius make this the “best in class” for the KYE
Series in firm to variable conditions. When
looking for a lightweight solution to an everyday all mountain or touring ski, the KYE95 is
your shape.

A by product of our long standing cooperation with its designer and part owner, Eric
Hjorleifson, the Raven may be the same
ol’ name, but it is far from the original.
This Freeride Touring specialized shape is
now 104mm with a single 29m turn radius.
We then reprofiled its new Neo core with
5-strand carbon fiber stringers to stiffen
up and further increase its supportive flex
pattern. These changes all pressed onto a
reverse 30m camber not only dropped the
weight by over 100gr, it turned this shape
into an all mountain tranny sniper.

smearing spines, Kye Petersen proved to us
the potential of his signature KYE120 shape
as witnessed in his self project, “In Search.”
For two years, Kye and our White Room crew
tweaked this wide body shape into position.
Designed with a catch free edge-less tip and
lengthy rocker tip and tail, this ski has no limits in the powder. New for 2016 is an updated
core resulting in a weight reduction of 15%
for those long approaches to the goods.

shape we introduced with the Reflect Tech™
design; mirroring the 35m sidecut radius with
a 35m reverse camber radius. This intuitive
design approach allows for this 122mm ski to

wind slab as well deep snow conditions. This
effortless turn initiation makes for very poppy

Wiley Miller shaped his signature ski to function as a park ski for powder. The YLE was a
first of its kind with equal width tip and tails
to provide a near centered feel for skiing
switch in the backcountry. We rockered the
tip and tails and left a bit of camber underfoot so the ski still tracked well when hitting

1. A skiing event in which skiers descend a slope
which is covered in mounds of snow, making
two jumps during the descent.
For years we’ve skirted the question, “...but how
does it ski the bumps?” Knowing all along with
mogul skiing in our DNA that whatever ski it was
they were contemplating had nothing to do with
ripping up a zipper line. 4FRNT is a brand which

With a full wood core, a very aggressive camber underfoot that runs the entire length of
the ski, you’ll experience pop off of the lip like
you’ve never experienced before. David was
very specific in what he wanted, and the result
was a ski that has enough pop to launch you
20+ feet out of the pipe, has enough edge hold
to carve on an ice rink, and enough stability
for Andre the Giant to ski them. Judging by
David’s Olympic Gold Medal, we’d like to think

The Aretha is a ski which was originally shaped
in our White Room and later combined with the
influence of the Devastator. We like to market
the Aretha as a our West Coast All Mountain
shape. This ski utilizes the Contour Core™
to support accurate drive and flex. We then
pressed a matching sidecut reverse camber
radius, known as Reflect Tech™ to maximize the float and forgiveness when plowing
through variable snow. If you live in a mountain
climate, there is no more diverse ski on the
market than the Aretha.

We channeled our inner-child when we designed this ski. The Grom’s full compressed
foam core makes the ski very maneuverable by
keeping the swing weight of the ski very low.
Our full camber shape gives the Grom enough
bite to let your little ripper let loose without
losing control. The Grom also features a fullycapped sidewall so unlike your kids, you won’t
have to worry when you throw them around.

Ski touring with the ADRENALIN
The Adrenalin offers everything you want out of a freeride binding while providing a legitimate touring
option for skiers who want to go big. You will go places you may never have imagined with the Adrenalin, but you won’t go down because of a pre-release. The freeride style toe piece gives unparalleled
protection and direct power transmission which gives you the confidence to push your limits without
worrying about whether or not you’ll stay in.
Own the whole mountain on the ATTACK
A great combination of performance and safety. The FR Pro Toe is much lighter and compact, significantly reducing swing weight. It also comes with a 77mm extra-wide and durable metal AFD (antifriction device) for better responsiveness edge to edge. Toe height is fully adjustable which allows for
compatibility with all alpine-style adult boots. The Race Pro Heel has an extra wide platform, which
increases binding retention and power transfer, as well as a minimal stand height (17mm), putting you
in a neutral position for better performance riding switch.
Blazing corduroy or skiing off-piste for the first time with the PADLOCK
Our Padlock series appeals to the beginner to intermediate skier who wants a lightweight binding and
a safe and accurate release/retention setting. The patented Full Diagonal - Intelligent 180° toe piece
releases both horizontally and vertically to guarantee lower forces placed on knees and ligaments in
backward twisting falls. Also, the spring-engaged AFD will accommodate any adult or junior alpine
boot.

UPTRACK SKINS
The all new Uptrack collection is the culmination of our personal ski touring experiences, paired
with selling skins to backcountry skiers for over 5 years. The Uptrack’s will become your most relied
upon and trusted piece of backcountry equipment you own.
Offered in 185 cm length, our skins can easily accommodate any ski up to 196 cm. We cut them
in 4 widths: 100, 110, 120 and 140mm. All skins come equipped with a trim tool however for skiers
looking to pair their skis and skins, we encourage users to pair the untrimmed: 100 with the Raven,
110 for the Hoji series and 120 for the Renegade. This was the purpose of Hoji’s shapes to be all
+2mm wider than standard skin width. Leaving skins un-trimmed greatly reduces the unnecessary
wear caused from storing them in your pack and bibs when folding the trimmed edges onto each
other. For those seeking to custom fit your ski, measure the widest point in your tip and trim away.
Skins come complete with a OSFA low profile tip fastener, Self Tensioning Strap (STS) tail clip system, trim tool, carry bag and cheat sheets for proper storage and ease of use.
