American Allure with Argenta
Trio
7:30pm
Nightingale Concert Hall,
Church Fine Arts
The Argenta Concert Series opens its fifth
season. It will include eight performances
spanning September through May featuring internationally renowned guest artists
and University of Nevada, Reno faculty. A
series of free master classes and lectures will
complete this exciting offering. The opening Sept. 11 performance, titled “American
Allure,” will be a celebration of works by composers who, while born outside the United
States, chose to spend a significant portion
of their lives in the Land of Opportunity. The
University of Nevada, Reno’s own Argenta
Trio (Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, violin; Dmitri
Atapine, cello; James Winn, piano) will
perform works by Bohuslav Martinu, Erich
Korngold, and the beloved “First Quartet for
Piano and Strings” by Antonin Dvorak with
the violist Dustin Budish.
