WELCOME TO OAKHILL CHILDREN’S AUDIO BOOKS
Dear Librarian
For New Year 2016 Oakhill launches another fabulous assortment of heroes,
heroines and animals from award-winning authors. There’s My Big Fat Zombie
Goldfish:The Seaquel, a fish with superpowers from Mo O’Hara, and Holly
Webb’s Scruffy Puppy takes on the local dog show, and her Brave Little Kitten
needs a home.
As for the heroes and heroines, we have the first adventure of a determined
young lady called Elspeth in Elspeth Hart and the School for Show-Offs by Sarah
Forbes; and Hannah and Billy have to foil an evil plot in William Sutcliffe’s
Circus of Thieves and the Raffle of Doom.
Then there’s Dad trouble! In The Case of the Exploding Brains by Rachel
Hamilton, Noelle’s Dad is walking round prison with a blanket on his head!
And in Pete Johnson’s My Parents Are Driving Me Crazy Louis’ Mum and Dad
swap roles, but Dad’s no good at being mum. Finally, Nelly sets out in a knitted
boat to find her missing father in Roland Chambers’ Nelly and the Quest for
Captain Peabody.
In Battle of the Beach Freaks Jess doesn’t have Dad problems, but in the ghostliest
town of all she’s up against Sam Hay’s creepy creation: The Duke of Spooks!
As spring warms up there’s March madness about. John Dougherty’s Stinkbomb
and Ketchup-Face and the Evilness of Pizza has more twists and turns than a pizza
delivery guy on an oil slick. And a boy’s best friend is his – pig? – well yes, in Sedric
and the Great Pig Rescue, by Angie Morgan, Sedric and beloved pig Denzel must
outwit dastardly Baron Dennis.
Acclaim for The Scruffy Puppy & The Brave Kitten
‘Beautifully told stories featuring a host of gorgeous lost and lonely puppies
and kittens’ – Little Tiger
In Claire O’Brien’s Cordelia Codd: It’s Alive!, Cordelia’s dreams of being a worldfamous fashion designer are thwarted by her crazy family.
By contrast in Summer’s Shadow from Anna Wilson, amidst the shadows of her
family’s past, Summer just might find first love – but is he too perfect?
As always, for additional information on these or any of our other children’s CDs
and MP3 CDs, please visit our website.

The Odd Squad: Zero Tolerance
The Book of Storms
The Odd Squad are back! After taming the school’s biggest bully, Nick, Molly and Karl
expect to bask in Safety Patrol glory. But without a bully to set straight, all they’re left
with is helping sixth graders cross the hall and reminding everyone that Jell-o meat stains.
Enter new kid Simone, who shakes up the team. Soon Nick is facing trouble. Big trouble.
Expulsion-level trouble. Which would mean repeating seventh grade ... He needs help,
and fast, because if there’s one thing worse than being the shortest seventh grader in the
history of the world, it’s having to go through it twice.
Danny’s parents are storm chasers – which sounds exciting unless you’re the son who has
to wait behind at home. And one night, Danny’s parents don’t come back. Stranger still, the
sycamore tree in Danny’s yard seems to have been struck by lightning, and when he picks
up a fragment of wood, he can hear voices ... including that of next door’s cat, Mitzy. The
stick is a shard of lightning that gives its bearer unnerving powers and it is very valuable.
So valuable that it attracts the attention of a Sammael, an ancient figure of darkness and a
buyer of souls. And he will do anything to get his hands on it ...

No True Echo
Henry Hunter and the Beast of Snagov
Eddie thinks nowhere could be more boring than his home town of the Wellcome Valley.
Unfortunately, he is about to be proved spectacularly wrong. Eddie’s problems start with
the arrival of Scarlett, who seems rather too confident and mysterious for your average
schoolgirl. She attracts trouble and she’s apparently only interested in two very strange
things – protecting the town’s local crackpot scientist, and telling Eddie absolutely nothing
about what’s going on. And why is she so interested in Eddie’s long-dead mother? Things
quickly go from weird to worse for Eddie, as he finds himself right in the middle of a
dangerous mystery.
When schoolboy super-sleuth Henry Hunter uncovers a clue about the legendary Beast of
Snagov, the origin of all vampires, he and friend Dolf travel to Whitby and Romania on its
trail. Unravelling clues from Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and the legend of Vlad the Impaler, they
encounter Dracula’s daughter Bella Dracul. But is she a friend or a foe? And can the trio
evade the sinister forces that are tracking their every move, intent on releasing the Beast
from its underground tomb?
