InspirationAs I think back to my early years as a kid growing up in Northern California
and recalling where and when my obsession with motorcycles began, I can
sum it up in two words. . . Evel Knievel.
One of my first introductions to motorcycles was watching Evel Knievel
jumping buses and cars on TV. I was an 8 year old kid in the mid 70’s and
Evel was my hero. Everytime Evel was attempting a stunt I was glued to the
TV not wanting to miss a single minute. I could feel the excitement, while
at the same time feel nervous not wanting anything bad to happen to him.
Of course Evel had his fair share of ups and downs as well as
broken bones (ok maybe more than his ‘fair’ share) but he never gave up.
He would heal up and be back on his motorcycle in a few months
chomping at the bit to try another jump.
I started at that point to live and breathe motorcycles. I would save up for
months then go to the store and buy anything that was Evel Knievel. I had
the stunt van, the wind up motorcycle, the Evel doll…anything I could get
my hands on. For me Evel Knievel was larger than life, and to this day I still
have my ‘collection’ of Evel Knievel stuff tucked away for safe keeping!
INTRODUCTION
Evel Knievel 1938-2007 Godspeed Evel!
I would ride my bicycle around my neighborhood popping wheelies and
building jumps out of plywood while trying to emulate my ‘hero’. I had my
fair share of crashes but nothing major and just a few minor breaks
and sprains.
I finally got my first motorcycle when I was 12, it was a ’69 or ‘70
Honda Z50. I’m not sure of the year because it was a used bike that
my Dad found and fixed up for me. I was way too big for it, but I didn’t
care-I had my first bike!
I tore around the neighborhood on it and would occasionally go to
friends houses to ride or just find a vacant field to turn into a
‘race track’.
I eventually sold the Z50 so that I could upgrade to a ’80 Yamaha
MX80 and I modified it to look like a ‘real’ race bike.
To this day I still love to ride. I ride MX and Offroad and still look
forward to the weekends like when I was a kid. I have 9 year old
twin boys that ride now and I have an absolute blast watching them ride
and enjoy motorcycles like I did as a kid, and still do.
I look forward to going to work everyday and having the opportunity to
design and develop new products, along with working directly with
professional race teams on a daily basis.
I never would have thought that my passion as a kid would still be my
passion today, but it is more than a passion…It’s my way of life!

rider. The “factory” red anodized on-the-fly
adjuster with its machined grooves makes
adjustment in the heat of the battle a simple
task. The clutch lever is CNC’d from solid
billet aluminum into a “shorty” design with
our logo machined into the lever’s blade. The
lever incorporates three sealed bearings and
mates with a large 8mm diameter pivot bolt to
produce unbelievably smooth lever action and
increased longevity.

The heavy-duty lever cover with embossed logo
helps protect and keep the terra firma from
gumming up the works. Reach for the lever is
adjustable to fit riders of all sizes and the nylon
sleeve allows the perch to rotate under impact.

additional protection for the left side
engine case as well as extended coverage to
protect the ignition cover. Its simple bolt-on design attaches it to the engine guard mount point
and a motor mount to secure the Ignition Cover Protector solidly to the frame. With the Ignition
