Glockenspiel (R on map) Watch this huge clock come to life in Glockenspiel Park! Must see live performances! Fri. 4:00, 6:00 & 8:00pm - Sat. 2:00 & 6:00 - Sun. 2:00, 4:00 & 6:00pm Greater Milwaukee Model T Ford Club (W on map) The Model T Ford Club, established in 1960, will display their classic cars from days gone by on the grounds and in the parade on Saturday only. Mai Baum Located on the South end of the festival grounds near the Glockenspiel. One of the most photographed subjects of German Fest, the Mai Baum represents each of German Fest’s participating societies. A German tradition, unique Mai Baums are erected May 1st in towns and villages depicting their individual cultural groups and prevalent trades and commerce. They signify the beginning of Spring and are put up with much pomp and celebration. Mardi Gras Show (O on map) Called Karneval, Fastnacht, or Fasching, Mardi Gras events cover the whole carnival season with famous parades held in Cologne, Mainz, and Düsseldorf on Rosenmontag (Rose Monday) the Monday before Ash Wednesday. This is a showcase of Mardi Gras costumes and traditions on the Briggs & Stratton Stage. Saturday 5:30pm Special Attractions & Activities continued Marktplatz (J on map) A marketplace featuring vendors of authentic German clothing, steins, nutcrackers, linens, jewelry, hats, candies and more! Music on the Move (Q on map) Inflatable children’s activities located on the south end of the grounds. Parade Bands, clubs in traditional dress, Model T’s, Volkswagen’s, Mardi Gras Prince & Princess, Fritzie & The Usinger Elves and more! Grab a schnitzel or your favorite beverage and relax along the parade route (see map). Saturday 4:00pm “Schafskopf!” Sheepshead (U on map) Learn how to play and join in a round of this traditional card game! Sign up begins when the gates open. Located in the Culture Pavilion.
