during the closing ceremony in the IT Building at 5:00 pm.

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is the largest funding Organization in the world
supporting the international exchange of students and scholars. This short presentation introduces
DAAD and provides information about the German university system and its recent developments.

With its 149 institutes and offices in 92 countries Goethe-Institut is one of the leading cultural
networks today. The Goethe-Institut acts on behalf of the German Government to implement its
cultural relations policy. It’s not only a place to learn German and a show-case of current trends in
arts, literature, science and politics. It’s a workshop as well, an open space for exchange, debates
and cooperation. In the Gulf Region the Goethe-Institut is operating since 2006 in Abu Dhabi, Al
Ain, Dubai and Muscat.

The KAS is a high-profile German political foundation, carrying the name of the first Federal Chancellor
of Germany, Konrad Adenauer. With more than 75 offices abroad and projects in over 120 countries,
the organization makes a unique contribution to development and encourage a continuous dialogue
at the national and international levels as well as the exchange between cultures and religions. The
Regional Program Gulf-States is based in Abu Dhabi since 2009 aims to strengthen the dialogue
between Europe and the Golf-States with regard to the regional integration efforts in the Gulf-Region.
