The third edition of the Belgian Week is scheduled for Monday 20th till Sunday 26th of April. Like in the
previous editions, Belgian menus and à la carte dishes prepared by chef Ashlie Dias, shall be at the center of the 6day event in the Crowne Plaza Hotel. As innovation, this edition will cater also a take away service. Follow up on the
seminars and events as well as on the subscription to the Belgian Business Day and the Gala evening on
www.beroba.com. With corporate social responsibility as one of the credo’s of BEROBA, at the Gala evening where
also a stand-up comedian will perform, a BEROBA-TON social economy award will be handed over. In the same
week AWEX is showcasing at Rommedica Walloon high quality medical devices and instruments. Also from
Wallonia is coming Maxi Toys, opening their third franchising shop in Bucharest. In order to prospect the
opportunities for Suceava county and Luxembourg province a cooperation agreement will be signed during the visit
of Governor Bernard Caprasse and his delegation from April 6 till 10 to Suceava.

The BEROBA-TON Golden and Silver Social Economy Awards 2015
In order to stimulate Social Economy activities of non-governmental organizations, commercial entities with a social mission or
any form of social enterprise in Romania, BEROBA and TON launched a call for best social economy projects of 2014. The two
winning projects will receive the BEROBA-TON Social Economy Award 2015 worth 1.500 € and 1.000 € at the gala-evening.

International trade fair for medical instruments and equipment which will take place between the 22 and the 25
of April 2015 at the Romexpo Exhibition Centre (www.rommedica.ro). The Walloon medical sector representatives
shall be available with their presentations in Pavilion C1/18. With its origin in Continental Pharma, Beldico s.a. is a
manufacturer and supplier of various medical devices for surgery and interventional cardiology, radiology, neonatology,

European leading company specialised in the personalised analysis of tumour DNA, enabling better cancer monitoring and

Province of Luxembourg and County of Suceava sign cooperation agreement
The Belgian province of Luxembourg (www.province.luxembourg.be) is the most southern of all
Belgian provinces and with 4.443 km² the largest province, though assessing the smallest population.
The capital Arlon with 28.000 inhabitants is seconded by major towns as Bouillon, Bastogne or Virton. The
economic profile of Luxembourg has been successfully transformed from a mainly primary sector oriented
economy in the 1960’s to a mainly industrial and service oriented economy today. Since 1996 the governor
is Bernard Caprasse. The Judeţ of Suceava in Northern Moldavia (www.cjsuceava.ro) has a population of
640.000 citizens for a surface of 8.555 km² with many woods. The capital Suceava, known as the hub for
Monastery tourism, counts 92.000 inhabitants. Catalin Nechifor is since 2012 President of the County
Council. Both regional leaders met in 2014 and decided to work out a cooperation agreement. During the
visit of the Belgian delegation, presided over by Governor Caprasse, this agreement which covers a wide

VCST Automotive Production Alba VCST (www.vcst.com), a subsidiary of VCST (www.vcst.com) with headquarters in SintTruiden (Prov of Limburg), leading designer and supplier of engine, driveline and technology components, started its activities in
2013 in Alba Iulia reaching 8 million € sales in 2014. For 2015 a doubling of the sales to 16 million € is expected. The
expansion of the production will allow an increase of the number of employees from 160 to 210 by the year end. VCST has
plants in Belgium, Germany, Mexico, China and Romania, employing 1.200 staff, totaling a turnover of 142 million € in 2014. Its
gears and shafts as well as brake components for automotive OEM’s and Tier 1 suppliers are used in engines, transmissions

Maxi Toys opens third shop in Bucharest
Belgian toys-chain Maxi Toys (www.maxitoys.com), located in Houdeng-Goegnies
(prov. of Brabant Wallon), consolidates its foot print on the Romanian market with the opening on April 28 of
its third shop in Bucharest. After opening its first shop in July 2014 at the Militari shopping area and a second
one in the Unirea shopping zone, the new 320 m² shop in the newly built Bucharest based Mega Mall is a first
Maxi Toys shop in Romania with the look and feel of a city mall-shop. Maxi Toys was founded in Anderlecht in
1988 by Belgian Philippe Paré and is active via own shops and franchising in Belgium, Luxemburg, Morocco,
France, Turkey and Switzerland. In 1997 the Dutch holding Blokker entered the share capital. The Romanian
shops are managed under a franchising agreement by Nicoro, a company with a proven track record in selling
toys in hypermarkets. The business plan foresees the opening of 30 to 35 new shops in the shopping malls of
