In 1934 the Cherokee Café, a small bar and restaurant seating sixty patrons, opened its doors on Smith and
Annapolis; Bob and Dorothy Casper purchased that restaurant in 1970 and called it Caspers’ Cherokee Sirloin
Room. Their dedication and personal involvement in offering the very best value for food and spirits, plus
friendly service, continually added loyal customers, necessitating expansions in 1977, 1979, 1981 and 1997.
In 1987 the Casper brothers purchased the Cherokee Sirloin Room and have continued
the traditions that were established during the formative and growing years when their parents owned and
operated the popular West Side restaurant.
In 1991 we opened another Cherokee in Eagan. In 1997 we made a major expansion and revamping of the
West Side Cherokee Sirloin Room, and in 2001 we did extensive remodeling and added an outside upper deck
and lower level screened in patio at our Eagan restaurant. We are making every effort to ensure that your
visit to either location will be most enjoyable and bring you back again and again.

Party likes it’s 1935 again! During the 20s and 30s, the Chicago mob would head north to Wisconsin and Minnesota to
avoid the heat of the city. They’d hole up in some of the great chop houses and relax. Now you can relive some of those days
