Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is the largest law enforcement agency in
Waukesha County
Is the third largest Sheriff’s Department in the State of Wisconsin
Is the first and only Sheriff’s Department in the state to be accredited by the Wisconsin
Law Enforcement Accreditation Group
Provides law enforcement contract services for seven local communities
Maintains highly trained specialists in Underwater Search and Recovery, Tactical
Enforcement, Canine Support, Computer Forensics, Accident Reconstruction, Evidence
and Crime Scene Processing, and polygraph examinations

The population of the City of Pewaukee is 13,654 (2013 US Census). The population
increases 58.9% during the day due to the influx of the daily workforce from other
communities

MISSION STATEMENT
The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department shall serve all citizens of Waukesha
County by maintaining and providing the quality means and services necessary to
protect life and property through the fair and impartial enforcement of federal,
state and local laws.
To preserve the safety and security of the community, the Waukesha County
Sheriff’s Department shall make every effort to provide the citizens of Waukesha
County with the best law enforcement services possible and shall endeavor to
treat all citizens with dignity and respect.
To these ends, the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is committed to not
only its traditional and time honored statutory responsibilities, but to the
maintenance of a visible presence to the citizens in the community as a fullservice law enforcement agency, devoted to the preservation of their safety and
security.

2013 Community Programs
Fishing
 Children from the Pewaukee area and contract deputies go fishing on Pewaukee Lake.
The program allows children the opportunity to interact with deputies in a positive
atmosphere. The Waukesha Sheriff’s Department utilizes a pontoon boat that was
donated by Skipper Bud’s. Do to the popularity of this program; we established a
morning and afternoon group to accommodate the number of children participating.
Between groups, the children enjoy a picnic lunch, grilled by members of the Citizen’s
Academy. This program occurs during the summer, every Tuesday from June to August.
One hundred fifty-one children participated in this program in 2013.
Archery
 Children from the Pewaukee area are dropped off and picked up by their parent/s at
Buck Rub in the Town of Delafield, where the program is hosted. Contract deputies
interact with children while explaining the basic fundamental of archery and finish with
a light lunch. This program is held three times during the fall and winter months. Sixtyfour children participated in this program.
Bowling
 Children from Pewaukee along with contract deputies bowl at AMF Lanes in the City of
Waukesha. Deputies socialize with the children during two games of bowling
afterwards, the children are served a light lunch. This program was held three times
during the winter months of 2013 in which fifty-six children participated.
