Welcome
Congratulations and welcome to your LSE alumni community.
Today you join almost 125,000 fellow alumni across the globe, in
the highest offices of business, government and society. The LSE
alumni network is one to be proud of – people all over the world
making tremendous contributions to the communities in which they
work and live. We are delighted to welcome you as a new member.
In today’s competitive market, it’s not only what you know, but
who you know. You now have membership of a global network
of LSE graduates, with over 80 country and special interest
groups enabling you to access contacts and expertise no matter
where you are in the world. Staying connected is as easy as
providing a current email address and you can then begin to
access the latest research and thought leadership, professional
networking forums, and social activities enabling you to catch up
with friends, old and new.
Membership is free and automatic upon graduation. To make the
most of your membership to the alumni network, please update
your email address with the Alumni Relations team, and join us
on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

Give back
LSE alumni help to keep the School strong now, and to build
capacity for the future. Many hand down their experience and
expertise to current and prospective students by volunteering,
helping to create a great student experience. Another way of
giving back is through philanthropic support of the LSE Annual
Fund, which assists a range of projects across the School.
There are many ways to get involved. By doing so you will be
making a profound contribution to LSE:
• Become a mentor to share your own professional experience
and expertise with students and alumni looking to follow in
your footsteps
• Speak at one of our alumni events or careers panels
• Serve as a committee member to one of our alumni groups
• Apply to be elected to the LSE Alumni Association Executive
Committee or one of its six Subcommittees
• Become an alumni ambassador and encourage more students
from your country to study at LSE, respond to their queries
about what it was like to study at LSE and live in London, or
how LSE has helped you in your career.

Events
Alumni can enjoy interesting social and professional networking
events organised by the Alumni Relations team and alumni
volunteers to help you to keep in touch with your peers and
the School.
Events range from class reunions, networking evenings and panel
discussions to special receptions at the House of Lords. These
events are not confined to campus and London; international
alumni groups arrange events all over the world, many of which
attract leading political, corporate and academic figures.
Alumni also get exclusive access to advance tickets to many of
the LSE Public Lectures – past speakers include Christine Lagarde,
Bill Gates, His Holiness The Dalai Lama and Burmese democracy
campaigner and Nobel Peace Prize winner Daw Aung San Suu
Kyi. Tickets for these events will be listed on the alumni events
calendar online.
To ensure that you don’t miss out on events for alumni in your
area, please keep the alumni team up to date with your current
contact details via your alumni online account (alumni.lse.ac.uk)

the School.
Alumni Mentoring Network
LSE alumni all over the world provide an invaluable support
service to one another through mentoring opportunities.
