Over 4,000 spectators was at site to witness the start The Organization – Sunrise Events, Inc Sunrise Events, Inc was established solely for the Ironman 70.3 Philippines President is Mr. Wilfred Steven Uytengsu, a triathlete himself and founder of the most active Triathlon Club in the Philippines – Polo Tri. He is also the President and CEO of Alaska Milk Corporation The rest of the Sunrise Team includes the following: Princess Galura – Project Director Eric Imperio – Local Race Director Host Venue – CWC, Camarines Sur Boasts of the biggest, world class wakeboard park in the world! Has existing accommodation and dining facilities – Camarines Sur WaterSports Complex – CWC Have full support from the local government who ensured that the roads are all paved for the race. With strong support from the Governor and the local government, the province and the community accepted the event, the organizers and participants with open arms, with the traditional Filipino hospitality. Each hotel had a 24/7 information desk. Each hotel also had one bus assigned for the ease of participants. Airport Operations Special Ironman Check-in Lanes to assist the participants The Alaska Media Center 215 media people were accredited for the event, including TV crew and official photographers. Office of the Governor Media Relations brought in their own accredited media group and production house for documentation purposes Media Center assumed the role of: “Oasis in a desert” for media, sponsors Lost & Found center, Daycare center for kids. Accommodated requests for some business center related concerns Food Caterers The best of the Philippine cuisine from two of the top chefs in the country served the participants and guests for 4 days The Food Court Week at a Glance Lance Watson Camp – August 20 and 21 A total of 13 participants attended the Lance Watson Camp Over the past 20 years, LifeSport Coach Lance Watson has coached new triathletes, age group champions, as well as number of Ironman and Olympic Games Champions. He is the Official Coach of Ironman. Lance has personally coached and consulted many champion athletes including Lisa Bentley, Simon Whitfield, Greg Bennett, Laura Bennett, Chris Lieto, and Peter Reid. He has coached at 3 Olympic Games, numerous Ironman and ITU World Championships, and was the founder and builder of Canada’s world renowned National Triathlon Centre. Carbo Load Dinner, 21 August 2009 The Carbo Load/ Welcome dinner was held at the Convention Center. A total of 250 participants attended. All were treated to a cultural show presented by the Province of Camarines Sur. Race Briefing – August 22, 2009 All participants attended the Race Briefing held at the Convention Center.
