N E W S KC Has High-Quality & Great-Tasting Tap Water! • Water Services proudly serves more than 460,000 Kansas City residents and 33 wholesale customers in the greater Kansas City area. • In order to get drinking water to your tap, we operate and maintain almost 2,800 miles of water mains in Kansas City. Lined up end-to-end, these pipes would stretch from New York, NY to Los Angeles, CA. F O R W AT E R C U S T O M E R S Water Services Unveils New Easy-To-Read Bill B eginning in July, you will receive a new, easy-to-read monthly statement from Water Services. In order to improve the customer experience, we’ve worked hard to update your monthly statement with improved graphics, charts, and other useful information. Look inside this month’s statement for a helpful guide that describes your new bill. • In 2012, we treated an average of 112 million gallons of drinking water per day, enough water to fill approximately 175 Olympicsized swimming pools each day. • Each month we test more than 1,700 water samples that are collected from throughout Kansas City, an average of 60 samples per day. • Each day we test your drinking water for over 280 contaminants, more than three times the number required for testing by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Easily Manage Your Account Online I n May, Water Services launched a new website that was designed with you, the customer, in mind. We understand that life is hectic, which is why we simplified the process of managing your account by providing you with the ability to service your account anytime, anywhere. Simply visit us online at www.kcwaterservices.org and click on “Manage My Account” to select from the following customer service options: • Pay your bill / review previous statements • Start, stop, or transfer water service • Update your account information • Register for automatic bank draft • Sign up for e-billing / go paperless • View your water consumption / receive high water use notifications Of course, our Customer Service Representatives are also available to help you over the phone or in person, but if you find yourself short on time this summer, please remember that easy account management is just a click away.
