An individual may use the statewide Public Library Access Card , PLAC, to borrow materials at other libraries
within Indiana. Since Starke County Library System has reciprocal borrowing agreements with many other libraries, it
is only necessary if the other libraries you would like to use do not have a reciprocal borrowing agreement.
The PLAC is $50.00 from the month of the 2013 that you buy it through the same month of 2014.
Applicants must have a valid Indiana library card; either resident or non-resident card. The fee for a nonresident card is
$60 plus the PLAC fee ($50). One must be in “good standing” at his or her home library.
In order to use it, an individual needs to present the PLAC on his/her initial visit to the library they are visiting and go
through the registration process for that particular library.
You may borrow books and non-book materials as determined by each public library.
The PLAC program allows libraries to offer the same interlibrary loan service as your home library.
You may like to use the many libraries in the Indiana library system as you travel, go to school within the state, etc.
