Before bidding begins, please take a few moments to view the wonderful items available this year. Items that will be part of the Live (Main) Auction are displayed in the private dining room. Silent Auction items are displayed in the Abegweit Room as well as just outside the doors. Seating – Tonight’s seating has been pre-arranged and an assigned bidding paddle will be at your table. The Live (Main) Auction – All bidders must have an auction ‘paddle.’ This will help us to identify bidders throughout the evening. Then, please bid often, bid fast, but most important, bid. It is fun being an active participant, and at the end of the evening hopefully you will be the successful bidder on some exceptional items. The Silent Auction – Tonight, there are numerous items in the Silent Auction. All you need to do is register your bid using your paddle number or your name, and the price you wish to pay for the item. Throughout the evening, the Silent Auction tables will close in blocks at the times outlined in this booklet. It will be announced when the items will close and how long you have left to bid on the item. We ask that you increase your silent bids by increments of $10 or more. You should update your bids often and concentrate on when the items are closing to ensure you won’t be disappointed! Payment of Auction Items – Successful bidders may present themselves at the cashier’s table just outside the Abegweit Room at the close of the evening to arrange payment. Payment may be made by debit, cash, cheque, VISA or MasterCard. Interac machines will be available to process payments this year. We request you redeem your auction item/package within the year out of respect for the donors of the items. Title to the auction items remains with the QEH Foundation until you have made full payment. Larger items may be picked up by Monday, November 21, 2011. Raffle – The Raffle tickets will be sold while viewing items and again during dinner. The winning raffle ticket will be drawn for during a break following dinner. Buy it Now – There is a silent auction table of gift certificates that provide you with the option of buying the item now without having to watch the item throughout the evening. The value you must pay for the item is stated on the bidding card. You can also bid the traditional way on these items until the ‘buy it now’ value is reached. This table will remain open until all items have been purchased.
