Checkthe thelatest lastest information information here. http://www.harp-japan.com/ http://www.harp-japan.com / Hosted by Nippon Harp Association Co-hosted by Soka City Cultural Association The 28th Nippon Harp Competition 2016 QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS The Nippon Harp Competition is organized by the Nippon Harp Association and the Soka City Cultural Association for the purpose of promoting harp music in Japan and fostering young harpists. Since the first competition held in 1989 , it has been held annually in cooperation with Soka City. The competition for Advanced and Junior divisions will be held in Soka City between November 17and 20, 2016. ORGANIZATION The Nippon Harp Association sets up the Competition Committee. The Repertoire Selection Committee, the Music Committee and the Secretariat are set up in the Competition Committee for planning and operating the competition. The jury is organized by prominent musicians from Japan and abroad. The competition is operated according to the rules set by the Committee. SCHEDULE Advanceddivision (2stages ) First stage: Thu. November 17 Final stage: Fri. November 18 Junior division(1stage ) Sat. November 19 Award Ceremony and performance by 1st prize winners; Sun. APPLICATION The applicants must submit the following materials in order to enroll in the competition. (Please note that all the materials submitted including the entry fee are non-refundable under any circumstances.) a. Completed official application form b. Two recent photos (5 6cm) with your name on the back. One needs to be attached on the application form. c. Copy of official certificate of birth. d. Advanced division: Up to 20 years old Junior division: Up to 12 years old (as of November 17,2016) The previous winner of the Nippon Harp Competition is not qualified to compete in younger divisions. PERFORMANCE The competition will be open to the general public. HARPS ・Advanced division Harps will be available to those who are unable to bring their own instruments (Aoyama, Lyon & Healy, Salvi). Practice time on the Performance-Harps will be available on November 16 after the drawing for the order of performance at Soka-shi Bunka Kaikan, according to the time table set by the secretariat. ・Junior division All the contestants must play one of the Performance-Harps provided by the competition (Aoyama 42 strings, Aoyama semi concert type, Aoyama full concert type). There will be practice time for the contestants to accustom to the Performance-Harps and also practice rooms with harps are available assigned by secretariat. PRIZES Up to 6 prize winners will be selected to be awarded with a certificate of merit. In addition, the top three winners will be awarded with the following prizes: ・Advanced division 1s t prize: ¥150,000 and Soka City Mayors Award trophy 2nd prize: ¥ 100,000 and the shield 3rd prize: ¥ 50,000 and the shield ・Junior division 1s t prize: ¥50 ,000 and Soka CityMayor s Award trophy 2nd prize: ¥40,000 and the shield 3rd prize: ¥30,000 and the shield The First prize winners will perform at Soka International Harp Festival 2016 on November 20. . All the performing rights in relation with the competition, including performances at the concert, TV broadcasting, recordings, videos, photos belong to The Nippon Harp Association.
