Cancer
RiverBend Cancer Services offers free programs for anyone in our community affected by cancer,
including those with a diagnosis, survivors, family members and loved ones.

Support & Networking Programs

Knitting Group
Saturday in the Garden
All needle workers welcome-no experience necessary!
If you love to be outside or would like to help in the
RiverBend Gardens, this group is for you.

These groups are open to all survivors and caregivers
with any cancer.
Family Group
Wednesdays, July 6th & August 3rd, 5:30–7 pm
Information and support for parents diagnosed with
cancer and their children. Reservations are required.
Card Game Meetup
Wednesdays, July 6th & August 3rd 2-3 pm
Play card games and connect with other survivors
and caregivers.
GynaGirls
Mondays, July 11th & August 1st, 4:30-5:30 pm
This group has been supporting women with
gynecological cancers for more than 10 years—all
are welcome.
Multiple Myeloma Support Group
Wednesdays, July 27th & August 24th, 6-8 pm
This group offers support to everyone impacted by
Multiple Myeloma.
African American Women in Touch
This group supports and educates African American
women and families about the importance of early
detection of breast cancer.
Lymphedema Support Group
Thursdays, July 28th & August 25th, 5:30-6:30 pm
Facilitated by certified lymphedema therapists, this
group supports anyone experiencing side effects
of lymphedema.
Michiana NuTones and SPHONC
Support Group
Sundays, July 17th 1:30-3:30 pm & August 21st,
12:30-2 pm
Support is provided for people who have had
laryngectomies, head, oral and neck cancers.

Sacred Path–Walking a Labyrinth with Kevin
Ladd, PhD, IUSB Faculty
Nutrition
People all over the world are discovering that the
ancient practice of walking labyrinths not only solves
problems, but also soothes the nerves, calms the soul,
mends the heart, and heals the body. Kevin Ladd, PhD
will discuss types of labyrinths, where you can find
labyrinths in our community, and more.

Introduction to Reiki and Energy Work
Special Events
The American Cancer Society regards Reiki as a safe,
complimentary cancer therapy. Reiki is an ancient, noninvasive “hands on” relaxation and healing technique
dating back several thousands of years. Learn about
Reiki in this introductory session.

Pelvic Floor Exercises for Intimacy and Sexuality
with Anne Clifford, DPT, Memorial Hospital
Thursday, August 11th, 5:30–6:30 pm
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles on the bottom of
the pelvis that provide support for the pelvic organs,
control bladder and bowel elimination and sexual
function. Like any muscle, they can become tight or
weak. Anne Clifford, DPT, will go through various
exercises to help strengthen this group of muscles.
