www.tmttreducation.com SERVING THE UNDERSERVED ‘Take Me To The River’ is an award-winning full-length documentary film directed and produced by Martin Shore. The film brings multiple generations of award-winning Memphis and Mississippi Delta musicians together, following them through the creative process of recording an historic new album. ‘Take Me to The River’ features Terrence Howard, William Bell, Snoop Dog, Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Lil P-Nut, Charlie Musselwhite, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Yo Gotti, Bobby Rush, Frayser Boy, The North Mississippi All-Stars and many more. The ‘Take Me To The River’ Education Initiative seeks to inspire a deeper understanding of history, culture, and the meaning of cross-generational and inter-racial collaboration. Through the program we bring the film directly to schools and share a screening, master classes, Q&A sessions and more, interacting directly with students, teachers and the community to bring history to life and foster a deeper understanding and respect for all cultures, genders and generations. Partnering with Berklee College of Music, the initiative has created a comprehensive music curriculum that’s been utilized by Berklee City Music schools in 47 cities across the U.S. In addition, teacher trainings and interactive live events have been presented in New York City, Nashville, Compton, Valencia and many other cities, reaching hundreds of thousands of students and teachers. More live events and education sessions are planned for 2016. LIVING HISTORY COMMUNITY PROGRAMS The ‘Take Me To The River’ Educatin Initiative offers a variety of education and comunity focused programs that bring history to life! We offer a variety of programming that can be custom tailored to school and community needs, including: Screenings of the film ‘Take Me To The River’ in 22, 45 or full length 90-minute options. Q&A Sessions with the filmmaker, Martin Shore, and a variety of musicians associated with the project including STAX soul legend William Bell, Oscar-winning rapper Frayser Boy and more. Live performances featuring musicians appearing in the film including: • William Bell • Frayser Boy • Al Capone • Jerry Harrison • The Hi Rhythm Section • The STAX Academy Alumni Band • And more. Interactive master classes focusing on music business, music production, songwriting, performance and more. Civics-focused discussions about race, generation and gender, reviewing how those topics are covered in the film and applying these issues to current events.
