Hoku is carved from the historic Ka’upulehu
lava flow. A dramatic lava rock wall is the

Atop an inky black lava bluff sits
Wedding Tree. This dramatic location
showcases the blue Pacific against white
sands and black lava. The two trees on
the bluff form a natural arch. The Wedding
Tree is the ideal location for intimate

Secluded Kumukea Beach at our property’s

’Ulu Ocean Grill
Our Resort’s signature restaurant offers
two semi-private dining options, each just
steps away from the vast cobalt-blue ocean
and rolling waves. The Kohala Room can
seat up to 30 guests and the Makai Lanai
can seat up to 42. As these rooms are
part of our restaurant, we are unable to
accommodate entertainment or dancing.

Superior Suites
Ocean-View Room
One- and two-bedroom spacious suites (1,050 – 1,685 square
feet) are available in the following categories: ocean view golf,
ocean view (lower level), ocean view prime (upper level)
oceanfront. The one-bedroom suites offer intimacy without
compromising space. The two-bedroom suites are perfect
for families.
Ocean-View Rooms are located throughout the Resort. Set in
four crescents that surround pools and natural Hawaiian fishponds,
Ocean-View Rooms are spacious standard rooms (635 square feet)
that face the Pacific Ocean across gardens or pools.
The living area offers a sofa (some with sofabed) or modular
corner sofa with chaise, small writing or dining table, 42-inch
(107-centimeter) plasma flat-screen television, comfy side chairs,
private furnished lanai (balcony/terrace) with panoramic views,
and are decorated with beautiful local art pieces. Superior suites
feature an additional 3/4 bath in the living area. Slate floors,
wood trim, rattan, and wicker are Huala-lai’s staples and are
enhanced by fabrics of neutral tones with splashes of color
that also complement our surrounding natural environment.

What does our wedding manager do?
Your Four Seasons Resort Huala-lai Wedding
Manager will take you through every step
of the wedding planning process through to
your stay at Four Seasons Resort Huala-lai.
Working closely with you, the Manager will
be your contact for the wedding ceremony,
reception and activities. Together you
will determine the type of flowers, music,
photographer, videographer, cake flavors,
vows and menus for your special day.
Your Manager will make your wedding
license appointment, hair and make-up
appointments, arrange group tee-times
and spa appointments. You can relax
while your Four Seasons Resort Huala-lai
Wedding Manager orchestrates the wedding
of your dreams.
Getting Married
in the State of Hawai‘i
The Date
*Four Seasons will make an appointment for
you to meet with a marriage license agent.
So that your wedding day is exclusively
yours, we hold only one ceremony per day.
Therefore, once you have decided which
wedding package best suits your needs,
please contact me to check availability,
request a booking agreement, and discuss
other details.
Marriage License
*A marriage license must be obtained in
the State of Hawai‘i prior to the wedding.
*Both parties to the marriage must appear
in person before the marriage license agent
with two (2) forms of identification, one
(1) of which must be a photo ID.
*If you have been married before, you will
be required to show legal documentation

if your divorce has occurred within
the last two (2) years.
*The marriage license is good for thirty
(30) days from the date of issuance.
Age Guidelines
*You must be at least sixteen (16)
years of age.
*If you are under eighteen (18) years
of age, written consent from parents,

Photography and Videography
Photography is such an important element to
a wedding as the images of your special day
will last forever. We have great relationships
with proven photographers that have extensive
experience working with our clientele. Your
Four Seasons Wedding Manager will discuss
the different approaches of our photographers
and present you with the choices that suit
your sense of style and personality.
If you decide to use a photographer or
videographer who is not part of our
The wedding cake is one of the signature style
elements to any wedding. Our Executive
Pastry Chef will create the custom wedding
cake of your dreams.
Your wedding planner can arrange a private
sunset dinner for you and your fiancé that
will be a part of cherished wedding memories.
The sunset and flickering tiki torches will
illuminate our Executive Chef’s creations.
Outdoor Events
The Resort reserves the right to make a final
decision to move any outdoor function to an
indoor function room to expedite the set-up
due to inclement weather. The decision to
move a function must be made no less than
three (3) hours prior to scheduled start time.
Suitable back-up space will be protected
with all outdoor events. Back up space
provided for the ceremony and/or dinner
reception shall be confirmed one-hundred
twenty (120) days prior to wedding date.

Guarantee
Guest Amenities
A guaranteed guest count is required at least
72 business hours prior to the event. You will
be charged for the guaranteed guest count,
or the actual guest attendance, whichever is
greater. If we are not advised of a guaranteed
count, the tentative number of guests will
become the guaranteed count. Should your
guaranteed guest count drop to less than
your tentative guest count, the hotel reserves
the right to reassign the function to a more
suitable location. Should your guaranteed
count fall below the minimum requirements
for selected menus, the Resort shall charge
the minimum guest requirement guarantee.
There will be a minimum labor charge
of $300 for any meal functions with a
guarantee under 25 guests.
We offer a variety of in-room recognition
items such as gift baskets, food and beverage
amenity presentations and more.
Non-smoking Establishment
Four Seasons Resort Huala-lai is a smokefree resort. Hawai‘i state law prohibits
smoking in all service areas and all areas
under roof, including rooms, room patios/
terraces/lanais, restaurants, lounges and
public areas. There are designated smoking
areas around the Resort, which will be
provided when requested.
Storage / Packages
All incoming packages should be addressed
to me. Please also mark your package(s)/
box(es) with your name and the date of your
wedding. Please advise us of large shipments
in advance, as it may be necessary to arrange
storage at the client’s expense.
