PROJECT TIME 1 hour SKILL LEVEL 1 2 3 4 5 MATERIALS Krylon® Dual® Superbond® Gloss White (post) Satin Hunter Green (mailbox) Drop cloth Painter’s tape INSTRUCTIONS Tack cloth Remove mailbox from post. Screwdriver MAILBOX: All-purpose cleaner Medium grit sandpaper or wire brush (optional) 1 Wrap mailbox flag with painter’s tape to protect it from the paint. 2 Using an all-purpose cleaner, thoroughly clean the mailbox to remove dirt, oils and dust. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow mailbox to dry. 3 If paint or rust is flaking off the surface, use a wire brush or sandpaper to remove it. Wipe clean. 4 Applying in a well-ventilated area, hold can of Krylon Dual Superbond Satin Hunter Green 6-8 inches from the surface and paint using a sweeping side-to-side motion with slight overlap. 5 Allow paint to dry for 30-60 seconds. PROJECT TIME 1 hour SKILL LEVEL 1 2 3 4 5 INSTRUCTIONS (continued) 6 Continue to apply light, multiple coats, waiting 30-60 seconds between each, until you are satisfied with the appearance. 7 Make sure the mailbox is completely dry before you remove the painter’s tape from the flag. POST: 8 Wash the post with an all-purpose cleaner to remove dirt and debris. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry. 9 Applying in a well-ventilated area, hold can of Krylon Dual Superbond Gloss White 6-8 inches from the surface and paint using a sweeping side-to-side motion with slight overlap.
