Wow! Oh what a night! The gala that was held on March 14 was indeed a GALA affair. I cannot say enough about the wonderful job the staff and volunteers did . If this is the kind of support the Centre is getting we are in good shape. Not only the staff, but the SGEU who helped sponsor this event. They were a vital part to the success of the Gala. This Spring we can look forward to not only good weather but many of the activities at both Centres. On April 14 The Elphinstone Centre will be having its Annual Stew Supper. Admission is $5.00 and all you need to bring is your appetite. As many of our Board members are finishing their term as Director, we are looking for volunteers to serve on the Board. If you or someone you know would make a good addition please ask for an application form at either Centre. I would at this time thank those Board members who are retiring from the Board and hope that they will continue to support the Centre. RSCC Annual General Meeting The Regina Senior Citizens 2015 AGM will be held on Wednesday April 22 at 11am in the auditorium of the Winnipeg location, 2134 Winnipeg Street. Thank you to SGEU volunteers for being there for the Centre. You all did a great job. Thanks as well to our RSCC Volunteers that helped in the kitchen, at the silent auction, bar and with the photo booth. Everyone had a blast from the past. The food was great, Sask. Express received a standing ovation and Sundog Band rocked the house down. Just like Old Hollywood, guests were escorted down the Red Carpet and were shown to their reserved table . At least one Hollywood star was sitting at each table Danny Kaye who was one of my favourites as I was growing up graced my table . I also noted Frank Sinatra, Natalie Wood and Clarke Gable. We were served a scrumptious roast beef dinner with oven roasted potatoes tender baby peas and rich brown gravy. Sticky buns with Carmel sauce added just the right touch to make sure all of us were replete. While Dinner settled in we were entertained by “ Saskatchewan Express “ truly cream of the crop of Saskatchewan young performers. If anyone went home then they would have already had their monies worth. But, there was more. From the start when “Sundog” the band began to play the dance floor was never empty. The band played Johnny Cash, Elvis, the Beatles and many other April 2015! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! page 8 favourites. They did not forget the polkas. Everyone raved about what a great time they had. We are already planning next year’s event; this time it will be sold out long before the deadline Thank you to those who came A liPle about Iris Viney, I have been a Realtor in Regina since 2004. Prior to this 2nd career, I spent over 20 years in the financial services industry. I learned that providing great customer service is everything. Now, in real estate my goal is to always put the best interest of my client ahead of my own. Personally, my goal is to treat each person in my life with kindness and respect. It gives me great pleasure in finding a home for a first 8me buyer or helping someone transi8on from a home they have lived in for years. As a more ‘mature’ agent, I oYen find myself working with seniors. ‘Empty nesters’ have special needs. The first step is to start talking to someone who knows the market, and who will take the 8me to ‘just talk’. Maybe it’s 8me to move; maybe it’s not.
