Much more flow with the trade from previous weeks helped by a packed ring full of regular and seasonal buyers. Many seasonal buyers were unable to fulfil their requirements today and will be returning to Beeston for more in the coming weeks. CONTINENTAL BULLS Bulls Breed British Blue Simmental Limousin Monty Blondes Angus Hereford Dairy Bulls No 54 23 6 3 6 16 15 149 Top 360 350 290 155 310 300 252 160 Heifers Ave No 282 43 281 9 194 4 122 210 2 233 11 218 8 1 74 Top 325 265 210 190 226 195 150 Ave 232 193 163 118 169 165 - A much faster trade for bulls, the mediums reached another gear. Only a hand full of best bulls today, top call at £360 for A Walley, next at £350 for Ferney Lees Farm Ltd. Simmentals for L E Weston at £350. Limousin’s to £290 for SR Harding. Mediums £300-£340 looked very well sold, smalls harder to place but most were £220-£250. CONTINENTAL HEIFERS A super show of Blue heifers today, best types at £280-£320. With top marks for W Hodgson & Sons at £325 and P&R Robinson at £322. Best Simmental to £265 for J&S Oakes with mediums trading at £200£240. Limousins were lacking in quality and numbers with the best coming to £210 for Les Allen. Young & Smaller calves generally £160-£200. NATIVE BULLS The trade does not seem to stop on Native bulls! Best today at £300 for VP Challoner and £265 for C&S Fitton’s Angus. Whilst Herefords traded to £252 for David Latham. Plenty of demand for all sorts but particularly the mediums which looked very well sold at £220+. Plainer sorts still look dear at £120£180. NATIVE HEIFERS A flying trade for the heifers, many many more could have been sold!! Top call £226 for VP Challoner’s Angus whilst Herefords traded to £195 for Graham Windsor. Mediums were particularly well sold at £140-£180. Smalls were better on the week, £80-£120. DAIRY BULLS An absolute rip roaring trade. Some calves making over £100 which could have been £60 on another week Black and Whites to £160 THREE times for A Walley, some younger sorts from PB Overy & Son and £145 and £120. I would say trade has been £30 dearer from the last couple of weeks, very few under £40. But credit to all vendors, a very good show of dairy bulls, all with shape and shine! 67 STORE CATTLE Auctioneer: Jonathan Farrall Nice to see a few more about and selling on a very sharp trade throughout. Trade at Beeston would be as dear as anywhere else, as anything out of speak (overage, overdone, none assured) difficult to sell. However with heifers grossing £1354 for W B Ackerley or 210ppk for a Charolais, a good trade was seen on the day. Topping the steers was R Cooke with a 34mo Limousin at 190ppk, with N Wilson takin top spot in the lump at £1198. More needed next week, please don’t keep them too long, as anything up to or over age much harder to sell!! Please REMEMBER they do not have to be TB tested to sell in the Beef Cattle Section. Don’t hesitate to contact Simon for FREE marketing and on farm inspection. 07815 188125 Steers 190p 188p 182p 175p 175p 175p 175p LIM LIM AA AA BB AA SIM 545kg 565kg 565kg 645kg 600kg 685kg 610kg 34mo 34mo 28mo 28mo 24mo 30mo 35mo R Cooke R Cooke W B Ackerley W B Ackerley N Wilson N Wilson J Thompson CHA CHA BB BB SIM 645kg 495kg 620kg 590kg 505kg 26mo 28mo 26mo 28mo 30mo W B Ackerley J Thompson T L Warburton T L Warburton JS & DG Thelwell Heifers 210p 185p 182p 181p 175p 155 CULL COWS 10.00am Auctioneer: Simon Lamb 07815 188125 Topping at 139.0p or £1066 FLYING TRADE ONE AGAIN!...
